With their silence Tyson assumed their conversation was over, now he was focused on finding the place they'd have lunch at so that he could get back to looking at the exhibits. He was surprised when Audrey took his hand, looking back at her as she told him how she felt. His gaze softened a little and a small smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. "Okay, I won't."

Audrey smiled, happy that he got the message, "Besides, stars are kind of cool now." She admitted, wondering what else he knew about space, "Do you think we'd ever have space travel?" she figured probably not in their lifetime, but she wasn't sure about in the future. She couldn't help but wonder if she'd ever get the chance to go up there. She let go of his hand and shuffled her purse from one shoulder to the other, "So, are we going to the space section now?" She asked excitedly.

"They're more than cool when you learn what they're made of and their life cycle." Tyson replied, wondering if this interest of hers would last or if it was just going to be a phase. Either way he was ready to indulge it as much as he could. "What kind of space travel? Like a vacation in space?" He asked, knowing some people would think that would be amazing. He tried to ignore the empty feeling of her hand when she let go of it and tried not to frown. "We have to do that after lunch," he told her, "so we have to go to the botanical gardens...then we can go to the space exhibit."

"I know they are like, balls of gas or whatever." Audrey couldn't remember the exact wording, but she felt like that was fairly close. She only knew what she'd seen in the movies and T.V. shows really. "You know, like Star Trek." she wondered if he meant like in Wall-E where the humans were on permanent vacation. "Wonder what they have for us." Some basic sandwich she guessed,

"Basically." Tyson smiled, a bit impressed that she remembered that but maybe she was really did have an interest in stars and space. "Never seen Star Trek." He told her as he checked a few signs, eventually leading her into the gardens where lunch was being held, teachers passing out sack lunches to each student. Tyson took his and peered inside, "water, sandwich, chips, string cheese, oh a cookie." He perked up a little when he saw the treat. ![](https://www.tclf.org/sites/default/files/styles/crop_2000x700/public/thumbnails/image/1781_hero_CummerMuseumofArtandGardens.jpg?itok=70OUttHC)

Audrey took one of the sad looking sack lunches from a teacher and grimaced at Tyson's description of the so called goodies inside. "Some of that sounds appetizing," She muttered a little, knowing she'd eat the string cheese and cookie, but the sandwich and obviously the chips were questionable. "I guess let's find somewhere to sit and eat." She looked around the area, finding it already pretty crowded, noticing a few people she recognized, but wanted somewhere else to sit. "Let's go this way." She grabbed Tyson's hand again and pulled him down a path to the right, less students were headed this way, and they came to a different little section. "Seems perfect." She sighed, finding a spot in the shade on the grass, and taking a seat.

Tyson raised an eyebrow at Audrey, he didn't think it would be too bad of a lunch, at least it was food. "Okay." He managed to say before she pulled him after her. He looked around as they entered a new spot, liking the extra shaded areas and sat down next to Audrey. "I like it." He said as he opened his water and sipped from it before unpacking the rest of his lunch and taking a bite from his sandwich.

Audrey smiled, "I like it too," She could appreciate how calm and quiet it was compared to where the lunches were being handed out. She pulled out the chips, deflating when it was just ordinary Lays, "Want my chips?" She asked, planning to eat the chips Tyson had gotten her instead, since they were clearly superior to Lays. She pulled out the sandwich and inspected it, finding it just a plain turkey with cheese sandwich, a few things of condiments at the bottom of the bag like Mayo and Mustard.

"Sure." Tyson shrugged and took her bag of chips, happy to have some extra. He raised an eyebrow at the way she inspected her sandwich, as if she was expecting it to be some kind of trap or made of something gross like liver or egg salad. He shuddered at the idea before taking a bite of his own sandwich. As he chewed he looked around the garden, his gaze catching on a couple butterflies that drifted from plant to plant.

Audrey used the Mayo and mustard packet, and took a bite, pulling her purse closer to her and pulling out the Cheetos. "This is missing a pickle." She pouted a little, thinking the sour crunch of a pickle was what this lunch needed, but she would definitely be satisfied with her chips now. "So, are you a junior that knows what they want to be when they grow up?" slightly wondering how much homework she actually had, which was a really weird thought for her. She hadn't thought about it before that much, but suddenly she was wondering how much work it would take to bring her C's to A's.

Tyson wrinkled his nose when she said her sandwich needed a pickle, thinking the taste was too over powering plus there was the time he'd bit into a soggy one and puked it right back up into the jar when he'd tried to grab one for a midnight snack when he was a child. He ate a couple chips before looking at her, pausing slightly. "Kind of? I used to want to go pro for baseball or hockey but now..." he shrugged a little, "maybe some kind of engineer or scientist."

Audrey narrowed her eyes when he wrinkled his face, she knew it was in disgust over pickles, but she smiled at how cute it made him look. "Not a pickle fan huh." She stated, taking another bite of her sandwich, and still wishing for a pickle. She perked up when he said he wanted to go in a sport, wondering how into the sports he really was. "Scientist… Studying what?" She asked, opening the bag of Cheetos and pulling out a couple, tossing one into her mouth. She placed the rest of them in her sandwich, lining them up neatly before closing the bread over them.

"Not at all, they're disgusting." He said, feeling like he was going to gag if he thought about pickles any longer. He looked down at his chips then back around the garden as he thought, a few of his curls falling over his face. "Maybe archeology, or space, NASA does have a lot more opportunities." He said to her before eating some pieces of his string cheese.

Audrey smirked, "From now on, I'll take all your pickles then," she offered, though felt like there was a low chance of him having a pickle in his meal that he couldn't decline when ordering. At the mention of space and NASA, Audrey couldn't help but think back to the planetarium show, and how dazzled she'd been with it. "NASA is probably hard to get into though, right?" She asked, more for herself than him, even if it was a silly little dream to wish she could be among the stars.

"Sounds like a good idea to me." He replied with a shrug, making a mental note to ensure that he always had pickles when Audrey was around when they were out for food. He wasn't sure why he made that decision but once it was in his brain he couldn't shake it. His thoughts were distracted by conversations about NASA, pausing slightly. "I'm sure it is, but I'm gonna figure out my way in if it comes to that." He said, a firmness entering his voice.

Audrey finished her sandwich and string cheese, yawning as she put her unfinished bag of Cheetos back into her purse. "I like the stars," She said as she yawned, not regretting the missed napped during the planetarium show, but she felt her eyelids dropping quickly and was afraid she wasn't going to make it through the rest of the museum.

Tyson continued to snack on his lunch but looked over at Audrey, catching her yawn. "Me too," he said with a small frown, "are you really tired already? Do you get any sleep?" He asked her, briefly wondering if she was getting sick or needed help finding a way to get some better sleep. He checked the time, hesitating slightly, "we have time for you to take a quick nap if you need to."

Audrey gave him a small smirk when he asked if she got any sleep. "I usually roll into bed around one or two. Depending." She probably should stop that habit, but she was young and that's what you did until you were too old to do so. "I just need a nap." She waved him off, taking her sweater off and balling it into a pillow to sleep on the ground, an ability she'd had since she was little, the ability to just fall asleep anywhere.

Tyson shook his head, the only time he stayed up that late was when he was studying or in the zone writing a paper. He looked down at Audrey as she made her own pillow, a small frown crossing his face as he thought about how uncomfortable it seemed. "Come here." He muttered, grabbing her sweater pillow and resting it on his lap, gesturing for her to lay down and rest her head there.

Audrey was just about to lay her head on her makeshift pillow when Tyson stole it from under her head. She watched with wide eyes as he rested it on his lap, surprised that he was willing to let her do such a thing. She eyed the sweater in his lap for a second before shooting her eyes back up to him. "Thank you." She smiled before laying her head on his lap, pulling her hair all together over her neck. "Wake me up in like, twenty minutes." She figured that was a reasonable amount of time, though as she closed her eyes, she wanted to stay there forever.

Tyson looked back at her, still not seeing what the big deal was. In his eyes it would be more comfortable for her to sleep this way. He nodded to her in welcome, staying still as she laid down in her spot. "20 minutes." He agreed but as he looked at her he made sure to add on an extra ten, they'd still have time to see everything. He picked up his phone and looked at the time as he leaned back on one hand.

It wasn't long before Audrey fell asleep, thoughts swirling with stars and pickles, and of course, Tyson. She mumbled in her sleep, something Victoria always complained about, saying she talked in her sleep anytime they had to share a room. Audrey didn't know what she was saying, because she was apparently mumbling to Tyson in her dream world too, she wasn't sure if that was intentional or not, but she wished she could read lips. There was one thing she could admit, she liked taking a nap with his lap as a pillow, and wondered if she asked next time, he'd let her do it again.

Tyson continued to look at his phone as Audrey slept but the second she started to mumble he glanced down at her curiously, unable to understand exactly what she was saying but he was sure he had heard his name. As he looked at her there was a breeze that pushed some hair over her face, making Tyson hesitate. He set down his phone then slowly reached out, lightly brushing the strands away from her eyes.

Audrey loved that she could fall asleep anywhere and pretty much instantly, so she didn't feel when Tyson brushed strands of her hair from her eyes, but her body reacted by snuggling a little closer to her sweater, closer to Tyson, a smile growing on her face. In her dream world she, and Tyson were just doing what they normally did, just hanging out, and she didn't deny she found it to be her favorite past time lately.

Tyson froze when he felt her shift closer to him, his hand hovering over her head but when he saw her smile he softened. He reached out, gently stroking her head for a little longer as he decided to enjoy the moment...until the alarm went off. With a little sigh he silenced it then reached down, lightly patted Audrey's shoulder. "Hey," he said softly, "wake up Audrey."

Audrey groaned when Tyson tried waking her up, her smile turning into a frown, her eyebrows furrowing, and her eyes squeezed shut. "Five more minutes." She begged, though a few seconds later, she blinked her eyes open. "Ugh, I love and hate naps at the same time." She chuckled, slowly sitting up and turning towards Tyson, "Sorry if I talked or moved." She grimaced, hoping she didn't make it uncomfortable for him.

Tyson couldn't stop himself from chuckling at her protests, shaking his head. "You were fine." He reassured her as he tried to ignore the part of him that didn't like her pulling away from him, the part that he didn't fully understand. "I gave you an extra ten minutes away." He told her, " but we still have enough time to see the other exhibits."
