"Yup, I'll meet you in there after I get this fish ready." Samuel replied with a nod, putting the fish on the table and setting his stuff aside. Instead of going into the kitchen of the building to get a knife he pulled a decently sized pocket knife from his jeans and got to work on gutting the fish, which he was sure wouldn't take him too long to accomplish.

Blake saluted Samuel before heading into the mess hall, slowly opening the door, listening for anyone inside. When he didn’t even hear a mouse, he headed inside, flipping switches and checking out the place. “Nice kitchen, I’ll have to tell Bobby.” He smirked, setting aside his rod and bait, washed his hands, and started digging around for ingredients before he started getting to work on making peanut butter chocolate chip cookies.

Silas focused on gutting the fish after removing the head and tail, using the running water of the station to rinse the fish and knife then tossed the guts in the trash. Once done he took his things and headed into the mess hall and back to the kitchen, spotting Blake. "Looks like you aren't having trouble finding your way through here." He chuckled a little, setting his pole and bait aside.

Blake was just putting the first batch of cookies into the oven when Samuel walked in. “A kitchen is essentially the same everywhere,” He smirked, hoping he’d easily step into the role as a chef or a baker. He wiped his hands on a towel before moving all the baking things he used into the sink. “So far, no ones come in to stop me.” He shrugged, hoping he and Bobby be able to cook whenever or whatever they wanted here.

"Yeah bit I figured stuff would be put in different places," Samuel shrugged, glancing over at his fish then holding it up, "where should I put this?" He asked, briefly wondering what the staff was doing at this place when they weren't make sure campers weren't getting into what they weren't supposed to. Maybe they wouldn't end up caught after all.

“Eh, never hard to find what you need,” Blake said as he grabbed a big stainless-steel bowl, “Or the equivalent.” He chuckled, motioning for Samuel to place the fish in it while he grabbed a similar but smaller bowl. Blake grabbed other ingredients, spices, butter, oil, mixing them all into the smaller bowl for the marinade.

Samuel gave a slow nod before tossing the fish into the bowl. He looked around the kitchen, spotting a bar stool and pulled it over at the counter by Blake. "How long till the cookies are done?"

“About ten minutes,” Blake announced, already smelling the cookies baking in the oven. He got to work on the fish, making a delish dish with the fish, potatoes, and green beans. The two of them talked about different things while he set about cooking. Several minutes later he had the fish cooking, the cookies out on a plate and was sitting on a stool too. “So, how fun is the bonfire going to be?” he asked, wondering if it was worth it to go or try and skip out on.

When the cookies were finally done Samuel snatched one off the plate but just as quickly as he picked it up he tossed it from hand to hand while swearing from how hot it was until it finally cooled enough for him to hold it between two fingers before taking a bike. Despite his throbbing hands he couldn't ignore how good the cookie was and grabbed another, looking over at Blake and shrugging, "I dunno, but if someone brings out a guitar and starts playing kumbaya or something I'm out, hot girls or not or whatever."

Blake laughed as Samuel played Hot Potato with the cookie, “Caution, cookies are hot.” He joked as he picked up a cookie for himself, tossing it between his own hands as it cooled before taking a bite himself. He laughed at the mention of singing Kumbaya and shook his head, “You know eventually someone’s going to have a guitar.” He could see it easily, the overzealous counselor who wants to make the most out of every PG thing the camp offered.

Samuel shot Blake a glare when he said the cookies were hot, "thanks Captain Obvious." He replied but his irritation quickly disappeared when he tasted the cookie and the way it melted in his mouth, he would be lying if he said this wasn't going to end up being one of his favorites. "It's always someone cringy who brings out the guitar, makes me embarrassed to play."

Blake chuckled as he finished his cookie in two bites, “You’re welcome, I’m always here for you as Captain Obvious,” He teased as he grabbed another cookie, impressed with how they had turned out since he hadn’t made them before. “I’m sure you play much better than kumbaya Betty or Wonder Wall Wally.” He made up the names just because it felt funnier too, but he hadn’t heard Samuel play before, so he wasn’t even sure how good the guy actually was. “How long have you played guitar?”

"Wow, I'm so blessed." Samuel rolled his eyes but there was nothing serious in the gesture. He could be stuck with a worst captain. "Hey," he pointed at Blake with a cookie, "don't hate on Wonder Wall, that's a classic," he continued to joke before taking another bite, pausing for a moment before answering. "A few years, since I was probably twelve and my Dad got tired of me complaining about how bored I was."

Blake shook his head, “It might have been a classic, if it wasn’t for every guy trying to play it.” He teased, knowing a few guys who had fucked up the song trying to impress a girl. Needless to say, they didn’t get the girl, and the song was ruined forever. He chuckled, wishing his dad would just complain if he voiced being bored. “At least you learned how to play guitar, my brother and I were forced to work.” He joked, though it was truth, it was just easier to deal with if he made it funny.

Samuel made a face, Blake had a point, there were quite a few people who thought that they could play but the minute they started strumming the strings it sounded like two donkeys getting in a fight. He wasn't that confident in his skills but he was at least sure that his playing didn't sound anything like that. "Sometimes my Dad would try to make me work but sometimes there wasn't work to be done so the guitar it was."

“What are your favorite songs to play?” Blake didn’t plan an instrument, but if he did, he was sure it would be the drums, something he could bash on for fun, or maybe the piano. He picked up one last cookie before turning to the oven to check how the fish was cooking, pleased with how it looked. “My dad would find something for my brother and I to work on.” He’d pick up a rusted car from the junk yard, as the two of them to fix it up. Sometimes they’d be able to, and sometimes it never started.

"I like a lot of country, shockingly," Samuel joked a little, "so those kinds of songs are my favorite." He said, trying to sneak a glance at the fish but couldn't get a good enough view. "My Dad tried to keep a balance between work and fun but I think he made me learn guitar so I'd stay out of his hair on the days off." He chuckled a bit, thinking of how long he would stay in his room trying to learn how to play instead of running back and forth like a maniac.

Blake laughed, “Could have fooled me,” He teased, though he liked country too, but he enjoyed Metal and Techno music more. “Hey, at least he taught you something kind of useful, never know when playing the guitar will come in handy… Like at the bonfire.” He laughed, though bet the girls would come flocking to Samuel if he started playing, even if he played Kumbaya.

Samuel rolled his eyes but there was a small hint of a smile on the corner of his lips. "Now I'm not going to be the one breaking out a guitar at the bonfire, you can find another way to woo ladies." He joked, wondering if Blake would be able to get a girls attention or epically fail. If it was the later he'd feel a little bad but might laugh too depending on whtever happened.

“Oh, I have my ways,” Blake smirked, grabbing an oven glove and opening the oven. The smell of fish, spices, and goodies wafted from the oven as he pulled out the meal. “Not only am I a decent chef,” he placed the tray on the cooling rack he had used for the cookies and closed the oven. “I make really good cake… So, I just need a girl with a sweet tooth.” He chuckled, grabbing two plates, and two sets of silverware, placing half of it in front of Samuel.

"Oh? You have me on the edge of my seat." Samuel joked, wondering just how good with the ladies Blake was. He went silent when the scent of their food hit him, making his stomach growl. His gaze trailed after the tray as Blake moved the food around, nodding slowly, "that shouldn't be too hard." He said, picking up a fork and taking a bite, eyebrows raising, "not that hard at all."

“I hope you’re right,” Blake chuckled, feeling like most girls were concerned about the number of calories they eat in a day. He took a bite of the fish and sighed happily, “God I love to cook.” He couldn’t imagine not doing any of this as a job, but he had to turn eighteen and get out of his father’s tight grip first. “I take it by the look on your face you approve?” he raised an eyebrow in question, but a smile played on his lips.

"And I love to eat." Samuel joked a little, about to take a second bite of the food Blake had made, pausing slightly to look at him, "it's pretty alright." He teased, glancing out one of the windows, "so that mean you're gonna be a chef or something?" He asked, not sure what else to talk about.

Blake rolled his eyes when Samuel said his cooking was just alright. He knew better than to believe that he thought it was just alright. “I’m highly offended by that,” He narrowed his eyes as he thought about snatching the fork from him and walking around campus to share the meal with a girl, but it was the fish he caught. He took another bite to avoid answering the question right away, “That or a baker.” He shrugged, not wanting to talk about the future when he wanted to enjoy the present, without his dad.

Samuel snorted when Blake said he was offended, casting him a roll of his eyes, "I'm just kidding, your stuff is good." He said with a shrug and taking another bite of the fish. He nodded when Blake said he'd be a chef or a baker, "no reason you can't do both." He suggested, glancing back through one of the windows that offered a view of where the bonfire was going to be set up.

Blake had known he was kidding, who could hate this delicious food? He took another bite and sighed, hoping he’d be able to cook like this at the school. He shrugged when Samuel suggested both, which was probably what he and Bobby would end up doing, opening a restaurant and both cooking and baking, he just had to keep that idea alive during the rest of his high school years. “Do you know if the school has like, a kitchen in the dorms?” he had read up on a few schools that had a community hall where you could cook, but he hadn’t heard about what Graymore had to offer.

Samuel nodded at his question, "yeah, they do, unless they took them out since last year or something." He joked a little, finishing the food on his plate and setting it off to the side. "Doubt anyone really uses them though, I survive off the cafeteria and the microwave for when my dad brings me left overs."

Blake smiled brightly at the image of his brother and him cooking at all hours of the day and night. “Don’t worry, if we room together, I’ll make you dinner, sometimes.” He teased, laughing as she put his fork down, grabbing another cookie to finish off his early dinner. “Is the cafeteria actually good?” He asked, debating if the school had a decent cafeteria, or was like his old high school that was just awful.

"Ah, the real reason I want a roommate in the first place." Samuel joked back, picking up a cookie and breaking it in half but paused when he asked about the cafeteria. "The cafeteria is like...the one place where the money the school gets doesn't go, everything's...bland, unless you pay extra and get something from the snack shack where they bring in food from off campus." He said, having gotten most of his food from that part of the cafeteria instead of what was served via the regular lunch line.

Blake chuckled, “Let’s hope we’re roommates then,” he hoped at least, since it seemed the two of them were getting along. Bobby had always been the one to make friends faster, easier, he always felt he was just included because he was Bobby’s twin. Blake’s nose scrunched when Samuel mentioned the cafeteria had literally no funding, though the mention of the Snack Shack sounded good to him. “Hopefully good places off campus, is that also allowed? Eating off campus?” It wasn’t at his last high school, though several students, including him, snuck off anyways.
