The sun was finally setting as Cassandra finished up her office and private tattoo room the way she liked and stepped out into the main room of her new shop. She still couldn't believe she had set up a shop before she even found a place to live, or even tell Leo that she was there. She knew he'd be very surprised to find her there, and even more surprised when he found out she had news of a different sort. Cassandra wasn't sure how he would take the news, but she knew she'd have to tell him soon. She looked around her empty tattoo parlor, excited for their first opening day, and hoping this place would be just as successful as her last shop she'd left behind.

Leo walked the streets of Graymore Pines with his hands tucked into his pockets. Even though he had lived in town for a couples month now he hadn't taken the time to truly explore the area. Instead of going out and about he stayed in his modest apartment or went to hang out with his brothers, glad that he was in the same complex as Charlie but lately Charlie hadn't been as available as much as he usually was and neither was Markus and though he could hang out with Aleah they didn't have a whole lot in common in terms of things to do. So, instead of bothering his siblings, he finally decided to explore while off from work, which also took up a lot of time, especially since Beck was investing in a whole housing development. Leo liked the work but he also knew he needed to do more things with his life. As he walked around town a tattoo shop came into view, making him stop in his steps with a slight frown, it looked a hell of a lot like the place he used to go to back home. Those memories bringing back thoughts of Cass, making his heart go a little taunt. He felt guilty about picking up and leaving without a word but it wasn't like they had agreed to be anything more than fuck buddies here and there but something about it...tugged at him and that tug brought him to the shop where he pushed open the door and looked around but froze when he saw the last person he thought he'd ever see again. "Cass?"

Cassandra started working on organizing where each station would be set up, always wanting to have the best flow, but she always gave her artist free will to decorate their area. She heard the door opened and wondered if it was someone who thought the place was open or one of her artists coming back, though when no one said anything she assumed a client. "Sorry we're not.." She looked up to see the person she least expected to show up, though she wasn't sure why, the guy was addicted to tattoos. "Leo. Hi." She said nervously, suddenly feeling nauseated like her morning sickness wasn't just during the morning anymore.

Leo looked back at Cass, feeling at a complete loss from her standing in front of him. "What...what are you doing all the way out here?" He asked, wondering what the hell brought her all the way here from Montana. For a moment he wondered if she followed him out here but instantly scoffed, he'd never told her where he was going or that he was leaving in the first place and it's not like he was that great of the person to follow or that anything deep between them happened to warrant something like this.

Cassandra felt suddenly hot, knowing her body was flushing a little with stress and anxiety, unsure what to say since she didn't feel ready to tell Leo. If he didn't want to raise the child together, she wasn't sure she'd want to stay, but she had put all her eggs in one basket, and had to live with that choice. "I am, um." She started saying, looking to the floor then back up to him quickly, knowing people might think she was trying to hide something. "Well, for one I am opening a new shop." She said with a smile, looking around her place, excited for new beginnings. There was just something about the starting process that had always been fun for her. "And um… Marcy told me you lived here." She hoped it didn't come across like she was stalking him at all, she needed to slow her heart rate down before bringing up the subject. "Wanna see my new office?" she asked, hoping to distract him, putting her best smile on for him, knowing she had always been able to get him back there with it before.

The more she spoke the more confused Leo got, he didn't understand why she'd leave her shop back home on a gamble out here and Marcy? How'd she know where he was? Unless she'd talked to Beck. Before he could ask any questions Cass rushed ahead, asking him about her office. "Oh, uh, sure." He replied, scratching the back of his head but her little smile had him further distracted.

Cassandra turned and let out a breath, feeling her heart start to slow down as she led Leo towards her back office. "It's not the same as my old store, but it's got some charm." She rambled on, opening the door to her office and letting him walk inside first. "Listen, I have to tell you something." She immediately said, not even letting the door close all the way before speaking. She had to rip the band-aid off, she didn't like beating around the bush. It reminded her too much of her mother.

Leo followed Cass back towards her office, looking around the rest of the shop with curiosity and feelings of de ja vue but was snapped out of it when she suddenly turned to him, saying that she had something to tell him. He looked at her in confusion, "are you okay?" He asked, taking a small step forward, jumping to the worst conclusion that she had a terminal illness.

Cass eyed him as he took a step closer, feeling the desire to step towards him too, as they often had done when the door closed behind them, hiding them away in her old office. She forced herself to stay put though, giving him a comforting smile. "I'm okay. It's just…" She wrung her hands together before blurting it out. "I'm pregnant."

The second the word pregnant left her mouth all Leo could do was stare at her, whatever thoughts of terminal illness being replaced with images of a crying baby and mountains of diapers until it finally clicked. "Pregnant," he said softly, eyes trailing down to her stomach, "and...it's mine?" He asked, looking back up at her face.

Cassandra felt her heart stop when she said the word pregnant, feeling like she regretted ripping off the band-aid. She suddenly worried her baby would grow up without a father, like she had, but knew at least she wouldn't be like her own mother. Growing up with a mom who was a drug addict, who disappeared when she was sixteen, leaving her behind to care for herself wasn't something she wanted anyone to go through. When he finally spoke, she let out the breath she'd been holding, and leaned against her desk to keep herself from losing balance and falling over. "Yeah… I haven't slept with anyone else." She admitted, knowing they hadn't actually had a relationship, but she didn't see the point in sleeping around when she knew Leo was clean, he was fun, he wouldn't get attached. What she hadn't planned on happening, was getting pregnant.

"Wow..." Leo said softly, not sure what to say, he hadn't thought he'd ever be a father due to never being lucky in love with the exception of what casual relationship he had with Cass. "Cass...did you come here to find me because of that?" He asked, he wasn't mad about it or judging her, if anything he was...touched by that, if it was the case. She didn't have to come here, she could have just called him or not let him know at all but now...this was his chance to get better, do better. He could be there for his baby and be the kind of father he never thought he could be.

Cassandra watched his reaction, unsure if she should take his as a good thing or not just yet. She nodded her head at his question, "I grew up without a dad…" She admitted, looking down at her feet for a second before looking back up at him. "I grew up without a mom too, so." She chuckled, wanting to lighten the mood with the news.

Leo looked up at Cass, shaking his head, "I want to be involved in everything," he told her in earnest, the drive to reach out and touch her, even though she wasn't showing, growing stronger but he didn't want to cross her boundary. Just because he was the father didn't mean that she'd want anything more with him. "I'll help out anyway I can, I have a steady construction job out here and I just have my car payment and rent so I'll set aside whatever I can for our baby."

Cassandra felt a huge weight lift off her shoulders, though she still felt the weight of worry that he might leave like her father had. She worried slightly that he might end up thinking she wasn't worth it, or worse, their baby wasn't worth staying for. "Um, well. Right now the only thing I need is a place to live." She had been living in a hotel for the past several weeks while she set up shop and she was growing tired of it, "If you know a place I can rent?" She hadn't had time to search the area for a place to stay, she'd been so caught up in the shop. Hearing him say he'd help out with whatever the baby needed had her heart soaring, but she told herself to calm down. She wasn't in love with Leo, and he didn't love her back, this was a mutual parental relationship only.

Leo raised an eyebrow, "you came all the way out here without having a place to stay lined up?" He asked her, part oof him wanting to laugh and the other part made him want to shake his head at her. He wasn't going to talk to her about her decision making process, instead he took a breath, shaking his head. "My apartment complex might have an opening," he told her, "but...you can stay with me until you find somewhere? I have a second room, I just need to get a bed set up."

Cassandra shrugged her shoulders, "I was more concerned with the shop," She admitted, knowing it sounded silly to not find a place to live while out here, but she didn't want to admit that way deep down, she might have hoped for something with Leo. She forced those thoughts at the far back of her mind, but when he offered a room in his apartment, it made it harder to forget that wish. "Oh, that would be great. Thanks. I paid for the entire week already, so I have two more days at the hotel, if you need time." She wasn't sure how long she'd last, but she hoped that it would only take at least one more day.

"Somehow I'm not surprised." Leo said with a shake of his head but was smiling a little. "That's more than enough time, I can get the room ready." And hopefully make sure it had enough space to fit furniture for her but also the baby, knowing it would be important for the two of them to be together even though the thought of not being with his baby in the night made him worry. "Did you bring anything from Montana?"

Cassandra felt a weight off her shoulders, being able to take something off her list of things to do, even if it was at the bottom of that list. "Thank you, that'll be very helpful, and." She paused for a second as she debated on her next words, "And I can still search for my own place." She didn't want to cause drama for Leo's life, so if he wanted a life aside from her and the baby, she'd give it. "Once the shop is running. It'll be a lot easier." She knew it was sort of a lie, but she didn't want him to think she came out here to trap him into a life with her.

Leo gave a little shake of his head, "don't worry about that right now," he said softly, "I have the space and...and I want to be there, just take care of yourself and the shop and we can look at things later." He said, later to him meaning far after their baby was born. He wanted to provide stability and he was able to for once in his life and he wanted to. His father had always told him he needed to grow up, now he just had a reason to.

Cassandra gave him a small smile, feeling like this could have gone south, and she definitely thought it would have. She didn't think negatively of Leo, she had just assumed with her past history that it might repeat itself. She didn't plan on being an alcoholic mother who disappeared though, and she was starting to have the feeling that Leo wasn't going to head to the store for a gallon of milk and not come back. "Alright, well thank you. It means a lot." She pushed off from her desk and wrung her hands together. "Sorry, I meant to have this place established, and a place of my own, before… I sought you out." Though now that she started thinking about it, she would be weeks along if she had waited.

Leo just shook his head, "I'm the one who walked in here...but that's because it looked so much like the old place." He said as he looked around then shook his head, "we'll make it work out Cass, don't feel rushed into anything, I just want to help and be involved." He told her honestly, reaching up and rubbing the back of his neck from nervous habit. "Just...my place is pretty bare, so don't judge it too much." He joked.

"Good to know that it feels the same," It was sort of how Cassandra wanted it to be, and the only other person in town who would have known what it felt like, would be Marcy, who was busy herself being the new baker at a café. She felt herself relax a little, glad that she wasn't going into being a mom alone, even though she had Marcy by her side always, she was glad Leo wanted to be too. She chuckled, "Don't worry, I'm sure I can easily change that." She wouldn't, if he didn't want her too, or if he ended up dating someone.

Leo half smiled, "I'm sure you can." He joked, thinking back to the few times he'd been to her house, though for the most part he was in her bedroom but it had all looked nice. "Um..." he looked around her office, a little at a loss but not wanting to end the moment, he...he missed talking to Cass and seeing her. "Have you eaten yet?"

Cassandra perked up at that, thinking maybe he wouldn't hate the idea of her decorating his place, though maybe he thought he could get more chicks with it. Granted, she didn't know anything about his love life, other than when they were fooling around. She was snapped out of the thought process with his question. "Oh, no I haven't. I was planning on grabbing a bite from Marcy." She admitted with a nervous smile, knowing she actually hadn't thought about eating since she had been so busy with getting ready. This weekend would be their opening weekend, and she wanted it to go perfectly.

Leo paused but a smile pulled at his lips, "of course Marcy's here," he joked, figuring it only made sense. The two were practically joined at the hip. "Well, if it isn't too much trouble...would you want to go get dinner with me? We can continue to catch up and can plan a little bit for the baby?" He asked, suddenly feeling a little nervous about asking her that.

Cassandra's smile was soft, having a weakness for her best friend who'd been there since they were middle schoolers. "That's how I found you." She admitted, knowing Marcy came out here because she was, but she had the rare ability to know where each Lasse boy was. "Oh, um." She looked around her office to see if there was anything else she needed to do before heading out. "Help me move a chair first?" she asked, grimacing at the fact she should have had it moved earlier, but unfortunately she forgot before sending all her artist home.

"Of course, Marcy might as well be another one of my sisters." Leo joked, having pretty much grown up with her that it felt like she was...if he ignored her history with Beck, which he tended to. He looked over at Cass, nodding quickly, "of course, just tell me where to put it."

Cassandra laughed, "You aren't wrong, but don't worry. I don't think she has any desire to make it true." She wasn't sure why, since she had fooled around with Beck, but she wasn't going to pressure her friend into something she didn't want to do, especially marrying someone. She walked past him back into the main area and grabbed one side of the tattoo chair a client would lay on. "We just need to put it in that station." She pointed, knowing it looked short enough it wouldn't take much to move the chair, but it was kind of heavy and that made it difficult.

Leo chuckled, "yeah, I don't think so either." He agreed, knowing that Beck would never be serious enough for marriage as far as he knew and his other brothers referred to Marcy as their adopted sister. He couldn't stop himself from watching Cass as she walked back, eyes trailing down her curving figure as he was reminded how they had started. He quickly followed her out of the room, telling himself that he needed to stop being a horn dog and that it was time to be serious. He looked at the tattoo chair then at the spot where she wanted it, "no problem." He walked over to the chair, tilting his head as he tried to figure out how to move it, eventually deciding to grab it, tilt it back, and pull it into its spot, the muscles in his arms straining but he got it in place. "There."
