Reaching out, give me a lifeline
I don't know if I can carry this on my own
In our hiding, tension traps our lives
Like a critic's life to put on trial

Reaching out, give me a lifeline
Athletic- As soon as he could walk he was thrown into sports, starting out with football then moving onto baseball, karate, basketball, you name it and Tyson has at least been on a team for a season. Nothing really stuck with him with the exception of soccer, hockey, and karate. He used to love sports because of his competitive nature, now it's something that his body knows enough without having to make him think. When he's on the rink or the field he can let his mind go blank and forget, for a moment, how his golden life got so rusted.
Academic- Perfect on the field and perfect off. Tyson is dedicated to his grades almost as much as he is to his team. Most of his spare time is spent studying and trying to get ahead of the class, wanting to stay in the top five of his class and achieve every award possible. He's a bit of a tense over achiever but its his nature, he has to make his mom proud and be a good role model for his goofy little brother. It's rare when he goes out, but his friends have figured out if they bother him enough they can get him to go out with them.
Down to Business- He used to be carefree but now he doesn't let himself beat around the bush. Some may say he's abrasive but he calls himself determined. With Tyson it seems like you get what you get when deep down he's hiding a tidal wave of stress, depression, and embarrassment. He doesn't let anyone except his brother get behind the walls he's built up to keep his eye on the prize of going to a top ranked school because if he can do that he'd be able to get a degree and a good job to support his family.
Lawful Good- He'll stick up for the little guy but don't think that means he wants to be your friend or that he's trying to be a hero. He's doing what he believes is right and rarely strays from the rules. He doesn't want to threaten his future with stupid decisions, nor will he allow himself to look the other way when someone is being mistreated.
Living lost can last a lifetime
I don't know if I can carry this on my own
Jack and Juliet were high school sweethearts which meant they spent a lot of time being teased. Jack being renamed Romeo in the halls while Juliet just giggled, thinking that there was no way their love story would end like the Shakespearian couple and for a long time it seemed like it would never end. After graduating they got married and took up jobs in their little town of Helena, Montana and started to build a family. They were ecstatic when they found out their first child was going to be a boy, Jack planning out the teams he could coach for his boy and how he could be an all start while Juliet just smiled, happy to see the smile on Jacks face.
Luckily the birth went without a hitch and the two returned home with their little boy, Juliet becoming a stay at home mom while Jack embraced the role of a provider. It seemed perfect, he was aways ready to help, at least in the beginning. He took turns getting up in the middle of the night and playing with their son Tyson. The two years of raising Tyson were challenging for the couple but they embraced it and eventually had their second child. Jack was vocal about wanting a little girl to round out their perfect family but the moment they found out they were expecting another boy Jack switched gears, behind a tight lipped smile he exclaimed how they could have two athletes in the family and Juliet, sweet Juliet, didn't notice the way things were starting to change after Erick was born. She continued to stay at home but Jack no longer helped, instead he started to work longer and longer hours to support the family, leaving only weekend for him to spend with his family.
For years it went on like this. Despite the time spent apart Tyson and his Dad clicked, spending time tossing a ball back and forth at talking sports while Erick tended to spend more time with their mom, not having much of a talent with sports. Tyson can remember the first and last time his brother had tried to play catch...it had ended up with a trip to the E.R. and a concussion. The boys laughed it off, except for Jack, who seemed to avoid Erick almost every chance he got. Tyson was oblivious to all of this, just happy to be with his father until one day his father was just...gone.
Tyson was fifteen when his dad left. He came home to his mom sobbing at the kitchen counter, a sight that wasn't entirely knew to him by this point. Jack had gotten meaner in the last few months, causing Tyson's rose colored glasses to fade. He had rushed Erick to his bedroom before going to the kitchen to ask his mom what was going on. Instead of saying anything she handed him a letter and his fathers wedding ring. As he read the words over and over he felt his heart harden as his rose glasses turned a deep red. His father had met someone else, had been with someone else for years, and was leaving to be with her and was never going to come back.
Juliet moved her family in with her parents to try to manage their finances, which they had little of. She had to start working, finding only a gig as a waitress while Tyson and Erick did their best not to cause trouble, even though the anger was building inside of Tyson. He had his grandpa in the home but with his dad gone Tyson took on the role of watching out for his little brother and essentially becoming the man of the house at such a young age. He'd had to grow up fast and when his mother realized this she started to worry. Her boys needed to have fun and enjoy their lives, not worry about taking care of the house. This worry lead her towards applying for scholarships to a private school on the other side of the country, the distance would be hard but she wanted them to have the opportunities that she never did. Once the boys had been accepted to school she broke the news, Erick was excited but Tyson was stone faced. It took a lot of convincing until he agreed to go, only allowing himself to go to Maine so he could make something of himself and take care of his mom...and show his dad that he had made a huge mistake.

I don't know if I can carry this on my own
It's a dwelling, call it deep insight
When the best no longer tries to fight
The sweetest sugar swoon
The darkest side of moons
So my last words will be your limelight
