Aleah followed his gaze, looking down at the cow in her hands and grimaced slightly, hoping he didn't think she had some kind of obsession. "My, uh, mom thinks that if she doesn't send me a cow every couple of months I'll forget where I came from." She tried to explain, putting the cow back down with the others and wandering over to her car, looking at it with pursed lips. "Okay, hopefully that's it..."

“I assume somewhere smaller than Graymore Pines?” Will asked before turning to look at the engine one more time, but he smirked at the fact his wife had been right, after a certain point, you’ve been given gifts of one specific animal forever. After running through his list once more, he nodded his head, “Alright, shouldn’t take me long to get the part.” He said, knowing if the place was down the road, he’d be back in ten minutes. Fifteen tops.

"Just a smidge, this town at least has multiple stop lights." Aleah laughed softly, glad that she was out of that small town where everyone knew ever single detail of her pathetic life. "Oh, do you want me to go with you so I can pay?" She asked, feeling a little bad that he had to do all of this when he was probably ready to go home and take a nap.

“Didn’t think stop lights were used to measure the size of a town.” Will had used if the town had a Walmart or not, having to drive out to some very rural cities that had a shortage of officers. “If you like, I don’t mind the company, buy a pack cost like. Twelve bucks.” He didn’t mind paying, he’d hope someone would do the same for Jessie one day.

Aleah laugh, "they're a pretty common way to compare towns back home," she joked, "I'll go with you, let me close up the garage and then we can go." She said and walked to the door that connected her garage to the kitchen, pressing a button that made the door roll down as she went inside, grabbing her purse and headed out the front door, making sure it was locked before joining Will outside.

Will nodded as he watched the garage close, his inner thoughts always reminding him to make sure it shuts and stays shut before moving. He walked over to his car and leaned in from the driver’s side, turning on the car and setting the heating up a little. Once she stepped out of her front door, he walked around the passenger side. “Hope you are a good navigator.” He didn’t know the town all that well yet, and if he wasn’t chasing someone, he often lost his way.

Aleah walked over to him and chuckled softly, "I'll do my best, I use my gps for everything though." She told him with a smile.

Will opened the door and closed it when she got in, walking back around to the driver’s side. Once he was buckled in, he put the car in gear before turning to her for directions. “Alright navigator, where to.” He joked, knowing it was a lame joke, but it still made him smile.

"Thank you." Aleah smiled when he opened and closed her door for her and pulled up the map app on her phone, looking for the nearest auto parts store and selecting it. "Well Captain, my map says to go straight and take a left on Hanover then go straight until the next intersection and take a right." She played along with him.

Will felt a small smile grow on his face as he faced the front windshield, heading off in the direction she’d given him. “So, if you aren’t from Graymore Pines, where do you hail from?” he asked, feeling the need to fill the silence.

"Evergreen Montana," Aleah replied with a slight smile, briefly thinking of her family that still lives out there. "Don't let the name fool you there, the town is pretty bare of trees unless you drive 20 minutes out towards the mountains. Where are you from?"

“Well, never heard of it, so it must be a small town,” Will chuckled, knowing Jessie would be rolling his eyes, but smiling anyways. “So, it’s like Greenland then. A lie,” he laughed, feeling like that probably tricked a lot of people before the internet was invented. “Oh, uh. Fort Fairfield.” He suddenly felt a lump grow in his throat, making it hard to swallow. She could easily look up the town, and probably find what happened.

"Trust me, it is, or biggest form on entertainment were four wheeling through the fields, or cow tipping." She laughed, shaking her head, "I guess it is a lie, but it sounds way better than like...Flatlands or something." Ari joked, tilting her head when he said the name of his town, feeling like there might be something behind his reason for leaving but felt like she shouldn't ask. "I've never heard of it but it sounds...military like?"

“I mean, the four wheeling sounds fun, I don’t know about cow tipping,” Will chuckled nervously, wondering how you tip a cow over anyways. “It’s Montana though, surely there are mountains?” Figuring out at least that was something like here in Maine. He nodded his head. “They have a military base, air force.” He remembered the Blue Angels performing there once, Jessie was beside herself at how they got the smoke to turn blue.

"Four wheeling could be fun, we also partied out there a lot too." She laughed, thinking briefly of those wild times but was glad they were behind her, even though what happened afterwards sucked. "Wow, that must have been interesting, I've never been to a military town." But then again she didn't think that she would want to, she'd heard rumors about military men and didn't want to get sucked into more drama and bullshit.

“Ah, I know a lot about those,” Will said, but he’d been on both sides too, one of the kids joining the fun, bringing beer he’d got someone to buy, and then he was also the cop that broke them up, tried to straighten the kids out, hoped I worked. “It’s cool with the air force. Because of the planes.” There was always some kind of drama with the military though, and he had driven multiple of them back to the base to keep them from going to prison.

Ari laughed, "well at least we have some common ground there." She joked, nodding as he talked about the planes, "I bet that would be cool to see, but probably loud and annoying too." She said, knowing that her small town was at least quiet. "I have to say, this town is a bit nicer, at least there's enough stores to give options for grocery shopping and what not."

Will saw the store just ahead, but still too her directions when she told him how to get into the parking lot. “Yeah, had to wear ear protection at most of them.” Some air shows had been just to showcase old timey planes as an educational festival. “And the big city isn’t that far of a drive.” Thinking forty-five minutes was better than an hour or more. It wasn’t completely out of the way, but just enough for now.

"Oh, that had to be annoying." She wrinkled her nose, she already had to deal with helmet hair, she didn't want to have to combat ear protection wear either. "Yeah, that drive isn't bad, plus the scenery is nice, I take my bike out there sometimes when I just need to cruise." She said and got out of the car once they had parked and tucked her hair behind her ear.

Will turned off the engine and stepped out, knowing a part of him was sad he had to leave that behind, even if the ear protection was annoying, or too many bar brawls happened certain weekends. “How long have you been riding a motorcycle?” He used to ride one in college, but when Jessie was born, he sold his bike to buy a car seat. He walked up to the store and opened the door, letting her walk in first before following behind her, and headed down one of the aisles.

"Oh jeeze, probably five years now." Aleah told him, smiling when he opened the door for him and stepped inside, but moved to the side for him to come in then followed him through the store, having no idea where to go. She barely remembered what a spark plug looked like. She looked around the store as they went but couldn't help herself from keeping her faze from flashing to Will every so often.

Will noticed her look at him but didn’t bring any attention to it as he looked through the little book hanging on a string in the aisle with the spark plug. “Do you have just the one bike?” he found the information he needed and search the inventory on the wall before plucking the right spark plus.

"Yeah, but I want to get a Harley some day, something more for cruising than racing." Aleah said, plus it would give her a chance to ride with Beck when he was around, or even let one of their other brothers ride and the three of them could go on a drive but, as fun as that sounded she wasn't sure if it would ever happen with how busy they all were and still how...different from them that Aleah couldn't seem to shake.

Will nodded, liked the idea. He could give his car to Jessie, he knew she wanted something to drive around, he didn’t mind riding a bike again. He wondered if he was finally going through his midlife crisis. “I miss cruising, nothing like the ocean on one side of you, and the world on the other.” He smiled softly, wondering if that was something he could do again, clear his head, maybe the answers would come to him. He stepped up to the register and pulled out some cash, it was a no brainer to do this, he’d hope someone would do it for Jessie if she was in trouble.

"Oh, you used to ride?" Aleah perked up a little bit, "I haven't met other riders around here yet." She said, briefly thinking back to her ex and felt a bit of nauseas rise inside of her...and the ache of loneliness. "If you ever get a bike we could cruise together." She offered as they walked to the register but paused, reaching out and lightly touching his arm, "its okay, I can pay, I'm already using up your spare time."

“Yeah, back in high school and college.” Will was already planning on getting the car cleaned and getting it ready to give to Jessie. He looked to Aleah when she said they could ride together and he nodded, “Sure, who else am I going to ride with since there’s no one else.” Teased, though he stopped handing over cash. “I don’t mind helping, so it’s not using up my spare time.” He would just be at home making breakfast before he went to bed.

Aleah laughed, "hey, I could offer one of my brothers, but he's an acquired taste." She joked, Beck being the notorious wild child of their pack who still acted like a sixteen year old instead of an adult with a job. She bit her lower lip, about to tell him it was okay when she realized one crucial detail. "Uh," her face turned a little red, "I just realized I don't...have my purse..."

Will chuckled, but shrugged his shoulders, unsure if he wanted to plant roots in this town just yet, though he wondered why he agreed to cruise with her after today? He blinked out of his thoughts as she said she forgot her purse and turned back to the register, handing over his cash. “Alright, I’ll take a rase now.” He joked, collecting his change and the sparkplugs before heading to the exit.

Aleah laughed but still felt a bit embarrassed that she had left her purse behind. "I'll look into it." She joked back and followed him to the exit. She glanced at him before slipping ahead and opening the door for him before he could for her, flashing a playful smile. "After you sir."

Will raised an eyebrow when she opened the door for him, “Are you trying to work off your debt?” he joked as he walked out the door and then waited for her to join him before heading to his car. He opened the door to the car for her first though, before slipping into the driver side and headed back to her place.
