Aleah laughed, watching as her dog flopped down on the floor next to will with a big sigh. "Yeah, he didn't live up to expectations but I begged my parents to let me keep him and he's been my slobbery mess ever since." She looked at her dog with a soft smile before taking a sip of her coffee.

Will grimaced at the idea of slobber everywhere. “I can’t imagine how much slobber, and I don’t want to.” He shook his head before looking down at the dog, still finding him kind of cute. “Does he miss being out there?” he sipped his coffee, wondering if dogs got used to their new lifestyle, or itched for the past.

Aleah laughed, "you get used to it, the worst is after he eats...or drinks." She told Will, leaning back in her seat as she held her mug between her hands, letting it warm up her fingers. "I don't think so? He's kind of a couch potato and doesn't cause too much of a mess in the backyard, back at home he'd follow me or my brothers around and always found a way to sneak inside."

“Oh, I don’t want to even think about how much you feed him,” Will imagining her shoveling food into a bowl as if he was Clifford the big red dog. He nodded his head as she described the dog, being able to see it instantly. “Yeah, if I needed a guard dog, you’d be replaced too.” He joked.

At the mention of food Ronney's head snapped up, eyebrows raising as his tail thumped on the floor at the promise of a treat. Aleah laughed, shaking her head, "what he lacks in guarding skills he makes up for in having a big heart." She said fondly and got up from the table, walking over to the top of the fridge and pulling down a jar that, of course, had cow print on it. She popped off the top and took out a milk bone, walking over and giving it to her dog.

“You really can’t keep anything on the counter or tables either,” Will chuckled, seeing most of the treats were on top of the fridge. He watched the dog take the treat and scarfed it down, sipping his own coffee as he thought about if a dog would have made a difference. He shook his head of those thoughts, knowing they only ended in misery. “What kind of dog is he?” he asked, thinking Newfoundland, but he could be wrong.

"Ugh, yeah, I made that mistake with a rotisserie chicken when we first moved in here." She grimaced slightly, remembering how she had panicked and taken him to the vet right away while the dog looked at her with a face that she swore had been grinning at her. "He's a Newfoundland." She said, patting Rooney's head before sitting in her chair again. "Thanks to him, my Dad refuses to try another." She laughed softly.

“Damn, the whole chicken?” Will asked, able to see how Rooney could swallow the thing whole without even chewing. He did not want to know what that smelled like when it came back up though. “I thought he was a Newfie.” He chuckled, betting he’d get more luck with a Pyrenees.

"Yeah, the whole chicken." Aleah made a face as she shook her head, "that had an awful aftermath so I definitely learned my lesson." She explained but when she looked at her dog she couldn't stop herself from smiling. "Yeah, he's a Newfie, but my nieces and nephews like to call him a bear."

“He definitely looks like a bear, shocked your mom hasn’t started giving that as a gift for you.” Will laughed, though his own mom tried giving him moose themed items, he put a stop to it, saying he didn’t want to burden a future loved one with a bunch of moose. Seeing her collection though, had him wishing he had kept more.

"Oh God, don't speak that into the universe, I don't need cows and bears." She laughed, shaking her head, "my brothers already make fun of me enough for the cow print kitchen." But as she spoked she looked at her dog again, a playful smile crossing her face. "Though I guess if she did I could make my spare bathroom bear themed."

“Why not the entire house just be cows and bears,” Will teased, a little creeped out at the idea of a bunch of bears and cows littering the house. “At least it’s not clowns I guess.” Which would be the next level terror, especially at night.

"Alright, remind me to never put you in charge of decorating anything." Aleah joked but grimaced at the mention of clowns, shaking her head. "If I ever walked into someone's house and they decorated with clowns I would be out of there so fast." She said, hoping there weren't people out there who decorated like that. "I will tell you my kitchen looks completely ridiculous when I have to get ready for my mom to visit." Which, thankfully, wasn't that often.

“Hey, I have a nice bachelor looking pad and I am proud of it.” Will hadn’t really tried decorating his place, so it had the feel of barely living there, he did have his office, which was already piling up with paperwork he shouldn’t be looking through. “How often does she visit?” He hoped for her shake it wasn’t often enough that the kitchen might as well look like a barn with the amount of cow items.

"Well, I haven't seen it so I guess I'll take your word for it." Aleah joked and sipped on her coffee, "she comes maybe twice a year, so I don't have to do it too often thankfully." But it was still a hassle to take everything out and put it up but she just didn't have it in her to break her moms heart and tell her she didn't like all the cow decor.

“Wow, only two? I was expecting six months out of the year,” Will teased, thinking two months wasn’t that bad, compared to how often his wives’ parents used to visit before her death. Now they hadn’t seen them in two months, though they were the ones who moved this time.

"If she had it her way it would be that often, but my Dad can't survive without her that long or leave the farm." She laughed but found the bond her parents had amazing, hoping that one day she would have that. She thought briefly to a time when she'd that she did have it...and then she was left at the altar with her heart in a million pieces. That damn wedding dress still sat in her closet when all she wanted to do was burn it. "I think if she visited that often I'd just leave up the decor all year round."

Will nodded his head, knowing his parents were the same way, couldn’t be away from each other for long. He finished off the coffee and set the cup aside. “Well, it’s not all bad, I guess. The cows.” He teased, thinking there were worst things to get stuck with.

"That's true, I could have ended up with pigs or chickens." She grimaced, taking care of the chickens being on of her biggest chores back home, she could still feel the terror of running away from the rooster in those early mornings when she tried to feed them. "Do you want anymore?" She asked, gesturing to his cup.

Will shook his head, “Thank you, but I should head home.” He’d need a nap in before waking up and meeting Jessie for dinner. “The coffee was good, and I’ll keep the cows to myself.” He teased, motioning that he’d keep his lips sealed at work that she was obsessed with cows, though he planned on getting cow cups and leaving them out for her to find.

Aleah nodded, she figured as much. She picked up his mug and stood, laughing at his gesture. "Good, or else you'll find a raccoon in your office...or a big slobbery bear." She teased, walking over and putting her mugs in the dishwasher, Rooney sitting up and looking between them with his ears perked up.

“I’ll take the big slobbery bear,” Will chuckled, thinking of being attacked by Rooney instead of a racoon. Though he hoped she wasn’t being serious about a real bear. He stood up and scratched Rooney behind the ears, finding him a little adorable despite his size. "Thanks for the coffee."

"Good choice." Aleah laughed as Rooney leaned into Will's scratches, a low grumble escaping from his chest. "Thank you for fixing my car." She turned her attention to Will with a big smile, glad to have one weight lifted off of her shoulders.

“No worries, always willing to help,” Will would always stop to help someone, everyone was stuck somewhere, sometimes you just needed some help. “Alright next time you get an alarm from the school, don’t call me.” He teased as he headed for the front door.

Aleah smiled, walking with him to the front door. She laughed at his joke, shaking her head as she opened the door for him. "Okay, I'll just make sure to call you only on your days off." She teased back.

“Oh, yes please. That’s my favorite time to call about work,” Will joked as he stepped outside. He waved to her as he made his way to his car, hoping her car wouldn’t break down anytime soon. He waved once more once he was in his car and drove off towards his apartment.
