"I figured I should start early." Aleah joked back and followed him to the car but put her hand on his hip, looking at him with a raised eyebrow and teasing expression. "Really? Now I'm back at square one." She joked after getting in the car.

“Nah, more like two steps behind,” Will joked as he easily found his way back to her place, though it really wasn’t that hard since it was just down the road. “But don’t worry, I’m sure you can cover the costs.” he added, pulling up to her house and putting the car in park.

Aleah laughed, shaking her head, "Where there's a will there's a way." She joked, not realizing the play on his name until a couple seconds later and started laughing, "now that was a good joke, you'd have to admit it." She grinned at him and got out of the car.

Will chuckled at her joke, finding it kind of funny that his name fit in it. “Technically that’s correct. I can’t say for the other Will’s of the world.” He joked as he got out of the car and didn’t hesitate to head back to her car, opening the hood once more to start replacing the sparkplugs.

Aleah laughed, "well you're the only Will I know, so I'll take the win." She said as she followed him up to her car, her lip catching between her teeth as she hoped this would do it. She would have ran inside to grab some cash...if she had any, but like most people these days she didn't keep any on her, just her cards.

Will chuckled and opened the sparkplug package, “Alright, so you have two more left after this. Find a good place to keep these.” He held out the package to her after taking two of the sparkplugs out and bent over the car to start replacing the ones he thought were the problem to her car.

"I will definitely make a space for these in the garage." She told him with a smile as she took the sparkplugs from him, glad that he was helping her out and started to think of way that she could pay him back for this. Aleah stepped back a little and waited, not wanting to miss the moment that her car would, hopefully, start.

“Hopefully you aren’t like me, and things disappear even when you organized everything.” Though Will knew part of it was because of the move that he’d lost a few items, the biggest reason was because he moved things to make room and then forgot to move it back. Once he had the sparkplugs put in, he closed the hood, “Want to try?” he asked her.

Aleah laughed, "luckily no, but it's the process of organizing where I tend to lose stuff until the very end." She told him, thinking of the plenty of times she'd seal a box and put it in a stack only to find something she'd missed out putting in it. She looked from her car to him, suddenly feeling nervous, "is it dumb to say that I'm almost scared to?"

Will shook his head, “No. I mean it is, but I get it,” he smiled softly, feeling like it wasn’t really being scared, but more of a superstition about it not working if she tried it. He walked around to the driver’s side and slid into the seat, turning the key, and hearing the car roar to life.

Aleah was sure her cheeks were a little red when he said it was, even though he said he got it, she still felt a little silly. She sucked in a breath, holding it as he got in her car and tried to start it. When the engine finally caught her eyes went wide and she cheered for him, feeling like a huge weight had lifted off of her shoulders.

Will let it run as he stepped out from the driver’s side. “I’m going to run it for a moment, make sure it doesn’t just die on you again for another reason.” Though it was still possible, he hoped it wouldn’t happen. After fifteen minutes he turned it off, feeling like it was going to die, it would have by then. “Here you go.” He said as he handed the keys back to her.

Aleah nodded, clasping her hands together as she prayed her car would keep running and apparently someone was listening because the engine kept purring like a champ. "Oh, thank you so much, you're seriously a life saver." She smiled up at him as she took her eyes. "I know I keep saying it, but I really owe you one Will."

Will chuckled as she took the keys from him, eyeing her car once more before turning back to her, “I’ll take an ‘I owe you’ for later, maybe I’ll get stuck fighting racoons at the school.” He teased, though if that really did happen, he’d be calling someone specific to collect those wild animals.

Aleah's mouth partially fell open at the image of him fighting racoons. "If that happened I don't think I'd be that much help." She joked, glancing down at her watch then at him with slight hesitation. "At least come in for some coffee before you go, it's the least I could do today."

“Maybe not, but you still owe me one.” Will pointed out with a light chuckle, thinking over her offer. “I’ll take it, but you still owe me.” He said, knowing he had the night off and didn’t have to head to bed just yet. He pulled out his phone to text Jessie real quick to see if she wanted to have dinner tonight.

"Well, I draw the lines at racoons." Aleah laughed, giving him a smile, thinking maybe she could take him out to lunch or something in return. "Well come inside." She turned and headed to the front door and unlocked it, leading him into a simple but open concept home that held pictures of her family and different trinkets. She went into the kitchen and started the coffee maker.

“Glad to know we are on the same side of the line about racoons.” Will hoped he wouldn’t have to deal with any wild animals other than students. He followed Aleah inside, taking a quick look around before moving into the kitchen, and taking a seat at the table.

"No kidding." Aleah shook her head but was smiling. "Do you like your coffee any certain way?" She asked him as she pulled down two mugs from the cabinet, which, of course, both had dairy cows printed on them. She took out creamer for herself but looked back at Will.

“Just black,” Will said, having been told by an old boss that if he got used to the taste of black coffee, he wouldn’t be disappointed in the taste of it. Though he had bad black coffee before, someone at the station had made it with too much water and it tasted like they pulled it out of the lake. He raised an eyebrow at the cow cups and smirked, “Surprised the creamer isn’t in a cow shape container at this point.”

"You got it." Somehow that answer didn't surprise her. As she waited for the coffee to brew she pulled out a glass container full of sugar from where it sat against the wall. "Oh God," he face turned a little red as she looked back at him, "I know, thank god she recently discovered Hobby Lobby so her choices are becoming more modern and less...90's kitchen nostalgia." She joked.

Will chuckled, “What’s the worst one you ever got?” he asked, betting on something that included a big udder or something. Or some really strange paint of a cow, something you usually have to put out every time your mother visited. He watched her pull down the jar of sugar, shocked it wasn't cow themed.

"Oh God." Aleah grimaced and filled each of their cups with coffee but added the cream and sugar to hers. "So I have these." She pulled a set of salt and pepper shakers from the top of her stove and showed them to him, each one being the head of a cow, one white and one black. "Guess where the salt and pepper spill out of."

Will blew into the cup of coffee out of habit before taking a sip, enjoying the nutty taste of it, eyeing the salt and pepper shakers she grabbed from the stove. “The nostrils?” he asked, feeling like that had to be the most likely place, other than maybe the eyes.

"That's exactly right, they're kind of unnerving," Aleah said, looking at the shakers before putting them back, "but I kind of like them." She laughed as she grabbed her mug and sat down across from him. The table was next to a sliding glass door which Ari glanced out of. "Oh shit, Rooney." She got up from the table but paused. "Are you okay with dogs?" She asked, "like...really big dogs?"

“I guess there is worse salt and pepper shakers out there.” Will wasn’t sure what they were, but he honestly didn’t want to find out. He looked at her and then looked out the glass door expecting to see a giant dog. “I have no qualms with dogs.” He informed her, sipping his coffeee.

"That's true, but these ones are still weird." Aleah laughed as she unlocked the sliding door but looked at him. "Alright, Rooney is pretty well behaved but some people get nervous because of his size." She told him and opened the door, poking her head out. "Rooney! Come here ya goober!" It took a couple seconds before a lumbering black mass meandered over from the side, climbing up the deck and walking into the house but the dog stopped when he saw Will, staring at him as if he had no idea what was going on.

Will was expecting some kind of shepherd maybe, or a Labrador to come through the door. Instead, he found himself looking at a giant fluffy bear. They stared at each other for a few minutes before Will broke the silence “And you’re afraid of racoons? With this wild beast roaming around in your backyard.” He teased, holding out the back of his hand so the dog could sniff it.

Aleah laughed as Ronney bumbled over to Will, sniffing once at his hand before licking him, his tail waving back and forth, thumping against one of the chairs. "Well I can't take this wild beast to school...as far as I know." She said, closing the slider door and sitting back down. "Besides, big guy would probably end up becoming friends with the racoons." She rolled her eyes but smiled softly, "he was supposed to be a guardian dog for the farm but uh...ended up being chased by the cows and sleeping with the goats."

“Maybe he can ask them politely to leave,” Will chuckled, thinking it was funny that they had a made-up family of racoons living on campus now. “So, he failed as a guard dog then?” Although it was funny that he was afraid of cows and ended up in a house filled with fake cows, a constant reminder.
