Cosette felt a twinge of jealousy, but she knew if she gave it time, she’d have more friends. Even if she shouldn’t get too attached in case she has to leave abruptly. She wouldn’t be able to tell them anything either, which had her wondering if she shouldn’t go out for drinks at all. “Is there food at this bar and is it good?” It was just one night, it wasn’t like they were becoming best friends.

"Oh yeah, they have the best mozzarella sticks and potato skins." Aleah nodded, "I have to make sure I don't eat there too much or else I'm definitely going to gain like a hundred pounds." She joked, "I don't think there's anything I wouldn't recommend at the bar except for the dark beers and that's because I hate that shit."

“Potato Skins?” Cosette asked, wondering what potato did they used the skin from? Some of them didn’t look that appetizing, but she did love pommes frites (French Fries). “Well, want to meet there at seven?” she asked, thinking again, one night out here and there wouldn’t be a bad thing.

"Yeah, they're super good, especially when they're loaded with bacon bits," Aleah said, practically drooling at the thought of having some. "Yeah, seven works," she nodded, wondering if this would end up being a habit or just a one time thing. She wouldn't mind having a friend out here but she wasn't going to push anything and make things weird.

Cosette smiled happily, feeling like her chest felt a little lighter about the plans. She checked her watch, noticing the time. “Think any other students are joining us?” she asked, looking over at how many goodie bags they had left, which was not that much. It at least made her feel good that all those who had come to the event got one.

Aleah's lips pursed as she saw the time then looked around, not seeing anyone else approaching and the vent did seem pretty full. "I'm not sure, the event is halfway through so I doubt it." She shrugged, looking at Cosette, "you can go if you want to."

“I can wait for you, if you still want to come,” Cosette didn’t want to admit she wasn’t ready to walk down alone just yet. During one of the groups, she must have lost track of time because the sun was towards the end of the sunset. “I wont force you though.” She could muster up the courage, she was confident Silas was down there.

Aleah smiled, "sure, if you really don't mind." She'd hate to keep Cosette from whatever she was planning on doing but didn't hate the company. She looked down at the goodie bags then back at the event, catching her lower lip between her teeth. "I don't think we have to wait too much longer..."

Cosette nodded, glad that she was willing to go along still, “I’m perfectly fine, it’ll be fun. We can just ride around in the ring where there’s lights.” Though it wasn’t one of the trails, she could still have fun showing Aleah some tricks to riding. “What got you into riding motorcycles?” She asked, not sure how something like that happened.

"Sounds like a plan to me." Aleah nodded, thinking that there wasn't much that could go wrong if rode in the arena. "Oh," she laughed, "one of my brothers got into them and they looked fun. Growing up we had crappy dirt bikes and four wheelers we cruised around on and one day my brother pissed me off, so I took his Harley and rode off to give him pay back and it was...fun," she smiled, "but he was all flashy Harley Davidsons and I figured out pretty quick that I liked speed over heft."

Cosette relaxed a little, feeling more confident with having Aleah join her. It was sometimes hard to listen to people talk about their siblings, wishing she was with her sister, but she hadn’t been able to talk to her for a while now. “My little sister, though she’d like a motorbike,” She chuckled, remembering how she was into the bad boys with the motorcycle down the road. “The second she got a ride, she realized it was terrifying.” She laughed, having enjoyed it almost as much as riding. “So, you uh, have something like, a, er, rocket?” She tried to think of what American’s called them, unable to think of the word.

Aleah laughed softly, "it used to terrify me, riding dirt bikes and all but then one year I kind of just...said fuck it and did the stuff I was too scared of." That had been the year when she had physically matured too, it was crazy what attention could do to someone. She paused when Cosette talked about a rocket, making her frown as she tried to think of what she could possibly mean. "Are you talking about a crotch rocket?" She asked with a bit of a smile, "which I do have one."

“Life is more fun that way, she doesn’t ride horses either,” Cosette had hoped to share that with her sister, but her sister got scared of heights, going too fast, letting an animal that could crush her carry her to the far side of the field. “Crotch rocket? Is that what they are called?” She couldn’t stop laughing at the name, finding it hilarious, but realizing it was pretty accurate with how people rode them.

Aleah nodded, life had gotten more fun for her after that point, despite the humiliation and heart break of it all. She laughed when Cosette said crotch rocket, knowing it sounded completely ridiculous. "It's kind of like a nickname for them, I usually just call them street bikes," she explained with a smile, "but they do feel like a rocket when you get up to speed."

“Whatever they are called, my parents were glad my sister was afraid to ride them, and only let me have a vespa.” Cosette found the vespa in the city fun still, but it never went as fast as a street bike. “What’s your drink of choice?” wondering if the bar had wine and what kind of wine, betting they probably didn’t have anything authentic from France, but she’d try others to see if there was something to her liking.

"Oh trust me, my mom isn't all that happy about me and my brother riding but it isn't like she can control what we do." She laughed a little, used to her moms nagging but usually brushed it off. "I like Vodka Cranberries but there's a drink Sweet Tart that I like a lot to, what about you?" She asked then paused, "I'm more into hard alcohol than wine."

Cosette giggled, “I mean in high school she probably tried though,” Of course her parents would be shocked and afraid for her if she did get on a motorcycle now, but it wasn’t like they could stop her. Especially since they were on another continent. “Never really drank Vodka before,” she had a taste of it, and hated how it tasted like being in a hospital downing their cleaning supplies instead of a drink. “Never heard of a sweet tart,” she chuckled, wondering if it tasted sweet or tart, or just like candy. “I like wine, but to be fair, I haven’t tried much of the hard liquor.” Not after watching her friends puke all night because they turned old enough to drink before her.

"Well yeah, high school is the typical one is supposed to go wild." Aleah laughed a little. She understood that kids needed to branch out and experiment but it was also important to keep them safe. "I love vodka, it's one of the few alcohols that doesn't make me that sick when hungover." She joked, "I'm not all that surprised you like wine," she teased, "but a Sweet Tart is supposed to taste like the candy and Dustin makes really good ones."

Cosette gave her a weak smile, “Does sneaking off campus during lunch with the principals car count as going wild?” It had been the only thing she’d done that was out of her comfort zone and she had been pressured into it by her friends. They all got in trouble, though not terribly since they were all well behaved kids and seniors about to graduate, but she did remember having fun so that was the point right? “Well, I’ll be willing to try the candy one. I don’t know about just vodka.” She made a face, wondering how anyone could take a shot with a straight face and not vomit.

Aleah raised an eyebrow, "I think that makes you a suitable badass." She teased, but was impressed that someone who seemed as straight laced as Cosette could do something like that, even when being younger. "My senior year my friends and I turned out schools football field into a horse pasture as our senior prank. They were going to replace the turf so we figured it be a great idea." She laughed a little at the thought, having lost contact with a couple of those friends but there was still a few that reached out to her occasionally but she couldn't bring herself to respond. "How you feel about vodka is how I feel about tequila." She joked.

Cosette laughed and shook her head, “I really was nervous and anxious the entire time, I didn’t want to lose out on graduating for something so dumb,” at the time it had been a dumb idea, but looking back she wished she had enjoyed it more, because it had been so much fun. Her mouth dropped open at the idea of using the field for horses instead of sports. “That sounds like fun, unfortunately I think very few of us had horses.” She chuckled lightly, wondering how many of her classmates did, or was it just her. She grimaced at the name tequila. “I haven’t had tequila, but I don’t have desire to try honestly.” She was perfectly happy sticking to wine.

"Hey, sometimes the risk is worth it." Aleah smiled, she had a few fond memories of her younger years and cherished them but sometimes she wondered if there was anything else she could have missed out on. "I grew up in a rural farming town out in Montana, it was weird to not have at least one horse." She laughed a little but it turned to grimace when she thought of tequila, unable to stop herself from shuddering. "It gives me the worst hangovers and and makes me act like an asshole, as I've been told."

Cosette giggled, “Alright, no tequila, got it.” She laughed, wondering just how much of an asshole Aleah turned into because of alcohol. Seconds later, the rest of the goodies bags were handed out and she found herself cleaning and helping Aleah put everything up. “Well, if you still want to, I plan to head down to the barn now.”

"Good," Aleah laughed, not elaborating that she'd been told that when she drinks tequila she ended up acting like her brother Beck, which she knew was something she didn't want to do. Once everything was gone and they had it all cleaned up Aleah looked over at Cosette and smiled. "sure, why not."

Cosette sighed inwardly when Aleah agreed to still come and headed down the path towards the barn. Several minutes later and a whole conversation under their belt, the two of them arrived at the barn. Cosette’s eyes flittered over to Silas’s truck, a feeling of relief washed through her, though now she knew she could have come alone. She figured this was a good chance to make another friend, even though she shouldn’t get too attached to even having friendships.

On their walk Aleah relaxed in the cool breeze until the barn came into view, glancing at the way Cosette glanced at the truck that she knew belonged to Silas and bit back a smile. She'd had a feeling this was the real reason to come here and decided that if it seemed like Cosette and Silas would be better left along she'd find a way to slip out and head home.

“Guess Silas is working, how big is his paycheck,” Cosette joked, though wondered if he had a reason he worked so much, did he have nothing to do like her? Or was he trying to avoid something else. She opened the door for Aleah and the sounds of a conversation drifted in from inside. She turned quickly towards the parking lot and finally noticed a second truck in the parking lot next to Silas’s. “Wonder who else is here.” She shrugged, following in after Aleah. “It’s… Empty in the house.” Thomas admitted to Silas, holding the bottle of beer to his lips as the two of them sat in his office, a case of beer each as they did their weekly hangout. The school bought hay from his farm since he grew enough to feed his stable and some extra, and he always hand delivered it since Silas was the one that would receive it. “Stormy’s gonna be here at the school,” he stared at the floor, wondering how she was taking the divorce. Sunny and he had wanted to wait till she had graduated, but it wasn’t in the cards he guessed. “It won’t be so quiet though… Reign dropped out.” He admitted to Silas, more disappointed in himself for not pushing her harder for it, but he also just wanted her to be happy.

Aleah laughed, shaking her head, "probably not big enough for everything he does honestly." She said, sometimes withing she could pay her employees more but it was hard to lobby for higher pay. She tilted her head as they entered the barn, shaking her head, "no idea." The other voice didn't sound all that familiar. Silas frowned, twisting his bottle between his hands as he listened to Thomas. This whole divorce mess was...well, unexpected. He'd known Sunny and Thomas for almost his entire life and to think of them as anything other than a couple was just...weird. It almost felt like if they couldn't make then who could? And the girls. He shook his head as he listened, "I can keep an eye out on Stormy if you want, she isn't signed up for riding but I'll ask the boys to make sure she's alright." He tried to reassure but his eyebrows raised when his friend mentioned Reign, "oh...I had no idea, I'm sure she'll be around to cheer you up though Thomas, you aren't that alone, hell you can come around here more often if that helps."

Cosette debated with herself on whether she should lead Aleah straight to the tack room to grab everything to ride or investigate the voices. In the end, curiosity won, and she found herself leading Aleah towards the office. She knocked at the entrance to the room but took the seconds for Silas and Thomas to notice she was there to spy inside, her eyes drifting to Silas immediately before eyeing the new guy.
“That would be great if you and the boys could do that, Stormy hasn’t talked to me about how she feels.” Thomas wasn’t sure how Reign felt about it either, but the way her voice sounded when she told him she dropped out and would be headed home had him feeling she wasn’t a fan of the divorce, and she shouldn’t. They’d been together her whole life, she didn’t know any different. Just as he was about to suggest they do something other than work, a knock came to the door that drew his attention to it.

Aleah followed Cosette, tilting her head curiously when they headed to Silas's office, her eyebrows raising when she saw the beer and two men kicked back. Sure Silas was technically off the clock but it wasn't like she could approve drinking in his work area but then her gaze landed on the other person there and for a second it was like her lungs forgot how to work. It was almost unfair how attractive he was and she quickly turned her eyes away, clearing her throat a little.
"Of course, our families have always looked out for each other but as for Stormy, she's lived up to her namesake." He joked a little, knowing the young girls emotions uses to change like a thunderstorm but as she aged it seemed to change, or at least he'd noticed that she'd become more stone faced. He was about to say more when he heard a throat clear, looking up to see Cosette and Aleah looking at him, making him feel like a kid getting caught red handed. "Oh," his face reddened a little, "hey there ladies, didn't...uh...realize you two would be coming out here."
