“Reminds me a little of home,” Cosette’s hometown was very small, made of farms, but it had been growing when she moved to Paris with Henri. She smirked, “Were you two trouble makers?” She couls easily see them being behind a lot of pranks, maybe they rode a bunch of cattle onto the football field one year.
“It wasn’t tat bad actually, at least, I enjoyed growing up here,” Thomas thought Reign and Stormy enjoyed it too, but maybe it was just too small a place for Sunny. She had always wanted bigger and better things, he had hoped he could convince her being here was enough.

Silas looked at Cosette and laughed, "a bit, we had to make our fun a lot of times, which resulted in a lot of scolding's from our parents and promises to do better." He joked, thinking back to those times, thinking of them as much simpler than now...at least then he'd had his brother and sister around to also enjoy in whatever they could find. "We didn't do anything too crazy though, just some cows getting loose and running down town or around the school and finding some good back roads to go mudding down."
Aleah nodded curiously, hearing a bit of what Silas was saying. "I think it's nice to have grown up in a small town but it as also nice to get out of there and end up somewhere new." She added, but if it hadn't been for what had happened she doubted she would have left her home town at all. "But I can't say I ever...conveniently had cattle get loose into town." She joked.

Cosette chuckled, “I take it you were making those promises a lot,” She couldn’t imagine what it must have been like, since she just had her sister. “My sister and I weren’t the best daughters, she as a troublemaker, but I knew how to cover up our mistakes.” She smirked, remembering how her sister painted herself purple, the hallway green, and her bedroom a rainbow. She spent the whole afternoon cleaning up, though her parents noticed splatters of paint she missed, but they never said anything about it.
Thomas thought about what Aleah said, wondering if that was what Sunny needed. He couldn’t leave the orchard, he didn’t know what she was going to do with the dance hall, but she could easily leave one day. He smiled to Aleah, “It was fun, tried to get the cattle to run down the hallways of the school, they didn’t want to go inside.” He chuckled, shaking his head.

Silas laughed, shaking his head, "we probably made more promises than we meant to keep but life was till fun." He said, thinking of the few times he had seen the adults smirk or try to hide their smiles after certain pranks went awry. "Oh?" He raised an eyebrow at Cosette, "we could have used you back in the day." He teased, remember how back then and even now, how hard it was for him to keep a straight face when trying to lie or cover his tracks.
Aleah's eyebrows rose, "wait, you really did try to get cattle into the school?" Was that something she'd have to worry about now? What would she even do if that moment were to occur? "To be fair, if I didn't have to for work, I don't think I'd want to go back into a school either." She joked.

“I didn’t do it that often, I got caught a lot, that one memory is always first in my mind.” Cosette shrugged, unsure why that one was the first one she thought of when thinking about siblings and what trouble they were. “Why wouldn’t they go into the school?” she chuckled, wondering what kept them from storming inside.
“I still think it’s because we tried at night and those hallways are still scary with the lights off. I didn’t want to go in there.” Thomas chuckled, not really scared of ghosts, but couldn’t help his goofy side from showing.

Aleah couldn't stop herself from shuttering at the mental image of a dark school hallway. "I hate having to go through the halls when the lights are off, it's so creepy." The school wasn't old but in those evenings where she had worked late it was hard for her too not get creeped out or feel like something was watching her. "I don't blame the cattle at all."
Silas chuckled, "why do you think I stick around out here? It's not nearly as creepy." He joked, not having much of a reason to go down to the main school building at all unless he had to coach practices.

“I am generally terrified for you, I would rather just not,” Thomas chuckled, wondering if people really did get the creeps when walking down a darkened hallway. “Well, needless to say, they didn’t go, we got them onto the football field, it was still a good prank.” He chuckled, remembering the principal at the time hiding on top of his car after a late night of working.
“I kind of agree, the barn is less creepy,” Cosette had instantly fallen in love with the place though when she first showed up, though she didn’t know how anyone couldn’t love it while looking at the place. “If I have to, I’ll live in the barn.” She chuckled.

"Hey, at least you have a good reason to not wander the halls in the evening." Aleah joked, feeling like she'd be a bit concerned if she found him roaming the halls with no one else around. Honestly, if she found anyone, even the security guard roaming the halls she'd probably faint from shock. "At least if cattle show up on the field this year I'll have an idea of whose behind it." She said teasingly, not thinking of Silas and Thomas, no, but of the kids associated with them.
"Definitely less creepy." Silas agreed, "I think I'd be able to live in a barn too, people are already doing it." He said, knowing there was some trend about barndominiums or whatever the young people were talking about when he saw videos on them.

“I mean, what’s a good reason for you to be?” Thomas asked, wondering what would bring the principal in so late, “Sorry, I don’t know who you are talking about.” He teased with a big smile, knowing it would probably be Reed, Jake, and Sam behind it, though Reed was probably the on with the idea, and Jake and Sam just helped execute it.
“Really? People live in their barn?” Cosette wondered how that worked, was there a working bathroom? Kitchen? Seemed a bit strange when all she envisioned was setting up a cot in one of the stalls to sleep on overnight.

"Well like they say, there ain't no rest of the wicked." Aleah joked as she looked over at Thomas, unable to stop herself from laughing. "Oh yeah? Not one idea at all?" She teased back, feeling her stomach twist a little from his smile.
"Yeah, people will take old barns and renovate them into house," Silas explained, "and I'm sure there are people out there who like, turn the top part of the barn into a living space and keep the animals in the bottom, though I don't know how hygienic that is." He grimaced a little, not one to find that sort of life style tempting enough to live in. He spent a lot of time in barns which meant he knew just how gross they could be.

Thomas smirked, “Even if I did know, I wont talk.” He chuckled, feeling like he was back in high school, maybe he could move on. The words floated around in his head only brought up an image of Sunny in his mind, making him doubt he’d be able to move on easily, but he could try. “What made you leave your small town?”
Cosette tried to imagine her families barn back in France, turning it into a home, she didn’t think the horses, or the ducks would appreciate her kicking them out. She made a face at the idea of having the animals below you, but figured if there wasn’t another option it would do. “Only if there’s like, a clear distinction of where the barn starts and ends between animal and house.” She laughed, not wanting to think about the smell and the noise.

Aleah laughed, shaking her head at him. "Well then I guess I'd just have to interrogate Silas if something happens." She joked but hesitated for a moment at his question. "Oh, it was just...time to move on," she said, tucking some hair behind her ear, "hard to kind of...keep moving on when everyone knows your business." She tried to joke but felt it fall a little flat.
Silas chuckled, "I think I'd like to keep everything very separate. I don't want to wake up to a chicken roosting above my head." He joked, remembering how when he was younger his brother had snuck a rooster into his room one morning...and that hadn't ended very well when he had woken up.

Thomas winced and suck in a breath, “You might get an answer out of him,” he teased, though figured Silas wouldn’t rat any of his nephews out, but he also knew he’d severely punish them later. He slowly nodded his head, wondering when that time would come for Sunny to move on. “Ah, yeah. I get that too.” He rubbed the back of his neck, feeling like everyone that knew about his divorce from Sunny judged him.
“I already had the rooster crowing outside my window, being in the same building would be terrible,” Cosette chuckled, but hated that crow everyday until she moved away and suddenly it as sad waking up to cars honking instead.

Aleah laughed again, not sure if she'd be able to get Silas to squeal either though she'd just have to deal with it should the moment actually happen. She looked over at Thomas curiously, knowing there were a lot of things about him she didn't know but if this town was anything like the one she had grown up in..."I'm sure it's safe to assume that this town is like that too." She said with a slight grimace.
Silas chuckled, "I'm okay with the rooster crowing, as long as it stays outside." He said, back at home there was a rooster that crowed every morning but sometimes he was lucky enough to get up before the bird could squawk. "I think I'll stick with a regular farm house, they have their charm."

“It’s similar, maybe more people, but I think the overall feel of Graymore is similar to where you’re from,” Thomas wondered if Sunny would feel that tug and leave, or did she need to know that everyone was okay. He wouldn’t be, but he didn’t want to hold her back. “So, you just left a small town, for a slightly bigger town.” He chuckled, though he knew he wouldn’t move to a big city.
“A farmhouse that looks like a barn?” Cosette suggested, feeling like that would make it the best of both worlds. She could easily imagine a house, which looked like a barn, white with black trim. In her fantasy it as always in France, but with her current situation, she wasn’t sure where she’d end up now.

Aleah laughed a little, "I know it sounds silly but I don't think I could go live in any place bigger than this. I tried during college but it was too much." All the sights, sounds, and people had been a lot of overload for her and sometimes she wondered how she was able to make it through it with all the distractions.
"Yeah, exactly." Silas smiled, liking the idea of that. "But I got my basic farm house so I'll probably stick with that." He added.

“I honestly don’t think I could stand a big city either, I like fresh air.” Thomas wasn’t a huge fan of crowds either, even though Sunny had wanted to go off and become a singer. Maybe that’s what she needed to do. “I can’t imagine a place smaller than Graymore. That’s just, impossible.” He chuckled, knowing there were plenty of places like that, but he often couldn’t imagine it sometimes.
“Does it have a wrap around porch?” Cosette asked, thinking of her own family’s home in Paris, suddenly missing it. “My grandparents house had one. Growing up I loved sitting out there with everyone, watching the sunset.” She felt her chest grow heavy with her heart missing everyone back home, and her shoulders drooped when she thought about how she might never see it again.

"Me too," Aleah nodded with a slight smile, there was charm to being surrounded by trees and away from the loud city life. "Well it's possible, I'm from there." She laughed, looking down at her horse. She was glade Graymore was a bit bigger than her home town, it offered more stores and entertainment without all of the hustle and bustle larger towns had.
"No," Silas said with a slight frown, "it just a small front porch but I think adding a wrap around porch in the future would be a good idea." He said thoughtfully, he had been considering upgrading the house but that took time that he didn't have at the moment and he didn't necessarily want to hire anyone to do something that he easily could. "I think I'd like sitting out on a porch like that."

Thomas chuckled, “For all I know you could be lying, could be from L.A.” he teased, knowing she was most likely telling the truth. He let the silence fall between them, enjoying the quiet ride in the cool evening. It was nice, not to be fighting with someone, until his phone rang, and somehow Thomas just knew who it was, and his lips curled into a small smile in hope. “Sorry,” He apologized and pulled out his phone, seeing Sunny’s name on the screen, “I have to take this sorry.” He pulled Rosie to turn around completely, walking slowly back towards the entrance, “Hello,” he said with a smile, feeling his heart still skip a beat.
Cosette raised an eyebrow, wondering what a sunset on his porch might look like. She shook her head, “Is it the original house?” She wasn’t sure if it was like her family, here their house had to be rebuilt due to a fire. She smiled, “It’s really nice, you get a view of every side, even the second floor.” The house had several upgrades, including the last one, which was a second floor balcony.

"Oh god, never." Aleah laughed, having visited once, a long time ago and immediately decided to never go back. She was about to ask him something when he excused himself, taking out his phone. She smiled kindly, "it's okay." She looked over to Silas and Cosette as Thomas turned away, briefly wondering who h was talking to.
"Thomas," Sunny couldn't stop herself from relaxing at the sound of his voice but hers was still shaky, "hi...I'm sorry," she swallowed, "but I just...I didn't know who else to call, Reign...Reign was just here and started yelling at me and Stormy took off back home and I thought you should know." She couldn't stop herself from sniffling and rubbed at her nose, "she's so mad Tommy...I've never seen her like this."
"Yeah, it's pretty old but it's still standing," Silas chuckled, "I try to make time to do some upgrades but I haven't gotten very far." He admitted, knowing the house could be better but it wasn't like it was run down or anything. He listened as she continued to speak and smiled, "there's a second floor? Sounds pretty fancy."

“Slow down, no ones hurt?” Thomas asked, wanting to give Sunny a moment to take a deep breath and slow down. He didn’t want her to work herself into a panic, “Reign just needs time,” Though he didn’t know how mad she really was, he figured at some point they would all need to sit down and talk. “Are you sure Stormy’s back at the house?” he asked, knowing she still had some packing to do.
“Yeah, two levels.” Cosette said softly as she spotted Thomas leaving out of the corner of her eyes. She turned to Aleah with a frown, “What happened?” She asked, not sure of the best way to ask who he was on the phone with, since she figured Aleah probably didn’t know.

Sunny took another shaky breath, trying to calm herself down. "No, no one's hurt, Stormy texted me and said she went home," she answered, swallowing again, "I don't know if she'll ever forgive us, you didn't see the look in her eyes or hear her voice, oh jeeze," she couldn't stop the tears from falling down her face and sniffled again. "I-I don't know if she'll ever talk to me again a-and she said Stormy knew about all of this."
Aleah looked at Cosette, shrugging, "he got a phone call and wanted privacy."
Silas looked back at Thomas with a slight frown, having a feeling of who was on the other line. "I'll go check on him." He nodded to the girls before turning his horse and trotting back to Thomas but kept a bit of a distance incase he shouldn't be hearing whatever the conversation was about.

“It’ll be okay, Reign just needs a moment to think, she won’t ignore us forever.” Thomas knew Reign couldn’t hold a grudge for long, she loved too much. “What do you mean Stormy knew.” He frowned, hearing a horse approach from behind and turned in the saddle to see Silas ride up with the girls standing in the back. He motioned for Silas to ride closer. “Just meet me at your place.” He didn’t want to go back home if Stormy knew what had happened between them, her apartment would be safer.
Cosette frowned as Silas rode after him. “I don’t know this Thomas, what as he like?” She asked, wondering if it was maybe a work call that interrupted, but who would be working this late at night? “He seems nice enough.” He wasn’t at least outwardly rude to them.

Sunny couldn't stop the tears from falling, wiping at them with her free hand. "Reign said that we involved Stormy but I have no idea what she meant by that...we-we tried so hard to keep the girls out of it but I don't think we were as good at that as we thought." Her stomach rolled at the idea of Stormy having to deal with this by herself but that would put meaning behind how she'd been acting. "O-okay." She agreed to him telling her to meet at her place, "th-thank you Tommy." She whispered the last part before hanging up. She tried her best to control herself as she spoke to one of her workers who had shown up, giving them instructions before leaving he dance hall and heading home to her trailer.
Silas slowly rode over to Thomas, eyes flashing with concern, "everything okay?"
"Oh," Aleah frowned a little, "he seems nice but he's kind of quiet...I don't know anything about him." She said, glancing back at the two men before turning her attention back to Cosette, tilting her head with a coy smile, "still liking Silas?"

Thomas hung up the phone and turned to Silas, “Reign and Stormy got upset, I got to go fix this.” He would text the girls first, knowing they wouldn’t talk to him right away, but Sunny would. He rode Rosie to the gate into the barn and disappeared, putting the horse and tack away before leaving.
Cosette felt her cheeks flush. “He’s a nice, a great coworker.” She said, trying to sound convincing as if there was nothing else, she wanted to mention, like the fact that he was sweet, and handsome, and had a farmhouse with a porch like her family.

Silas blinked a couple times but nodded, "o-oh, okay, good luck." He grimaced, hoping Thomas would be able to handle seeing Sunny after everything. He turned his horse around and headed back to the girls, giving them an apologetic smile. "Sorry, something came up, Thomas had to get going.
Aleah couldn't stop herself from snickering, "uh huh, just a great a coworker." She teased before Silas appeared and turned her attention to him, frowning a little but nodded. "That's too bad, I hope that everything will be okay."
