Cosette was a little shocked that he was willing to still help her after seeing how many boxes and the fact that they’d have to head up to the school to do it. “I can drive us up there and then you back to the barn.” She was planning to come back anyways to check on Estella before heading home to unpack her house, what little she was able to bring with her.

"You think I can fit in your car?" Silas couldn't help but tease, glancing back at the little vehicle, with all the boxes in there he could only imagine how cramped he'd be in it, but at least it wasn't that long of a drive to get to where her classroom was.

Cosette felt her face burn slightly as she looked at her cramped tiny car, “I.. I think so?” she grimaced, wondering if she should let him get back to the barn work instead of helping her out. “Desolee. If you are still willing to help, I can pay for lunch?” She shrugged, not wanting to pressure him into helping.

Silas chuckled, "I was just teasing you, I'm sure I'll be fine." He said, opening the passenger door of the car and peering in. It would be a little cramped but he would make due. "You sure about that? I've been told I eat a lot." He joked, unable to help himself.

Cosette felt her entire face heat up with slightly embarrassment at not understanding his joke, but she felt the corners of her lips turn higher as she laughed, feeling it in her chest. “Wow, how um… Uhhh. Er… Observant, am I?” She teased, feeling like that wasn’t exactly what she meant to say, but it still made sense. She cleared her throat to get herself under control and slid into the driver seat, buckling in and starting the little car up. “Oh? I mean, would it be strange if I said I’m not shocked?” She had met several other riders who ate big meals to fuel their energy, and if he was also keeping up with the chores inside the barn by himself, she had figured he’d need a lot of energy.

Seeing her face turn a little red Silas did his best not to laugh, not wanting to make it worse or make her regret her choice in enlisting his help. He chuckled a little bit as he buckled himself up, glad that this was going to be a short ride considering how little leg room he had up front. "Naw, just figured I should warn you."

When he was sitting in the front seat, she pulled the car out of park and headed for the school, which only took two minutes. “Don’t worry, several of my friends back home have big appetites.” She smiled as she pulled into a parking spot that wasn’t too far from the door close to her room. “Shouldn’t take too long to put the boxes inside, what places are there to at around here, to um, eat?” she asked as she stepped out of her car.

"Alright, just figured I'd warn ya." He joked, glad the ride was soon over and carefully out of the car and headed to the back of the vehicle to start packing up the boxes. "There's a couple of places downtown like a diner, Mexican place, Chinese, and there's fast food of course." He explained.

Cosette didn’t overload herself with boxes, knowing she’d have to unlock the door for the two of them, but was intrigued by his suggestions, “Well… I guess any of those would work, I’ve never been to a Mexican or a Chinese restaurant.” She mumbled the last part a little quietly, feeling like it was embarrassing to admit that, but there weren’t too many of them in France. She left the trunk of her car open, knowing there wasn’t much to steal of there were thieves around, and headed for the door that would lead to the hallway of her classroom.

"Really? Well I'll tell you right now the Chinese place is way better than the Mexican place, their food is a lot fresher and they give the most for your buck." Silas told her as he followed her towards her classroom. He didn't mind going to either place but when it down to it he would choose the Chinese place every time.

Cosette felt her face flush a little, “There aren’t too many of those restaurants in France,” And the few thy had weren’t any good. She easily found her classroom and juggled the box she carried to unlock the door. “Well, this is me,” She smiled softly as she pushed the door open and entered the dark room. After turning on the light and looking around, she could see the desks and chairs lining the empty walls and a desk pushed into one of the corners that she guessed was for hr. “After unloading we can go, I’ll just come back and decorate after.” She said as she placed the box she had brought in on her desk.

"Well, I'm sure you'll end up getting sick of it in no time with living here." Silas joked as she carried in the boxes, looking around the room as he followed her to her desk and set down the boxes he was carrying. "Sounds good to me, you have plenty of time to decorate before the new year starts up."

Cosette chuckled softly, though wondered how long she’d end up living in the states, it really depended on how long Henri. Part of her worried a little that he’d found a way to follow her here, but she was supposed to be informed if he should leave the country. “Good, it’s going to take awhile I think, to get it the way I like.” She took another look around before heading back out to her car. Unloading all the boxes only took twenty minutes, and left her room full of boxes, “I really did buy more than I thought.” She grimaced, but was also smiling, feeling a little excited about it.

Silas nodded, a little glad the only space he had to think about ever decorating was his office in the barn, which he just threw up some family pictures and a few rodeo awards until it looked good enough. He helped her with the boxes, the slight heat of the day making him a little sweaty and uncomfortable but he pushed through it with little difficulty and before he knew it he was setting the last box down on the stack. He stepped back to observe their work, laughing a little, "well hopefully you have everything you need."

“I’ll just have you help me carry all my new purchases,” Cosette teased, patting the box she had just put down before grabbing her phone and keys, “So, do you want to squeeze back into my car?” she asked with a slight grimace as she wondered if he really was squeezed too tightly in the seat, because easily fit in the little car.

"Oh, so I just get to be the pack mule now." He teased back, tucking his hands into his pockets. "I think now that I can scoot the seat back we'll be fine, unless you'd want to ride in my truck." He shrugged, not minding which vehicle they took, not really thinking it mattered.

Cosette laughed, her face heating up slightly, “Is it bad that I would be?” She wouldn’t ask him for help if she could easily handle it, she hated inconveniencing others when she didn’t need to. “I want to be nice and drive, but I’m guessing you know where the place is.” He’d have to give her directions, and she wasn’t comfortable driving around, even with directions. It had taken her two hours from the airport to the school because she’d gotten lost twice.

Silas laughed, the sound coming from deep in his chest, "naw, at least you're being honest about it." He teased, not opposed to helping her out if she needed it. "I know the way to the place pretty well, mostly because I go there more than I should." He joked, starting to head towards her door but glanced at her from over his shoulder and smiled, "I don't mind driving us."

Cosette smiled softly when he said she was at least being honest, though she wasn’t being fully honest, but she’d keep that to herself for now. She sighed with a little bit of relief when he said he didn’t mind driving. “If you don’t mind, I hate to get us lost.” She chuckled, though knew it was a possibility.

"I don't mind at all, you'll just have to drive us back to the barn and I can handle the rest of it from there." He replied, kind of glad that he'd be able to drive, it was nothing against her, he just liked being behind the wheel. The life of a passenger princess wasn't one for him.

“I think I can handle that.” Cosette smirked as she closed the trunk of her car and slid back into the driver’s side. She buckled in and started up the car and headed back down to the barn after he had gotten in. She parked by what she assumed was his truck, since it was the only one here at the time. “This you?” She teasingly asked, pointing to his trunk right next to her.

Silas chuckled and got in her car, glad that the two of them were able to get along so far. He looked over at his truck when she parked and nodded, "yup, this is me, how'd you know?" He joked, even if there were other cars parked around the barn he knew it was a bit obvious which one would be his. He got out of her car and stretched his arms above his head. "Hope you don't have any trouble climbing inside." He teased back.

Cosette got out of the car when he did, looking over at how tall up his truck was, “I don’t know if I’ll be able to, but I’ll try.” She was sure she could use the step below and climb up, though she had a feeling she’d look a little silly doing it, but if it meant not getting lost, she was willing to look silly climbing into a truck.

Silas held back a chuckle, not wanting to embarrass her. "I can help you out of you need it," he offered and opened the passenger door for her, "all you need to do is grab the handle up here," he pointed up at the handle in the doorway, "and put your foot on the step and pull yourself up, kind of like you're getting on a horse almost."

Cosette felt a shiver run down her back when he opened the door and offered to help her. She watched and followed his directions as he showed her how to get in, putting her foot on the step and reaching out for the handle, but she miscalculated how far it was and missed it. She closed her eyes as she fell backwards, bracing for the moment of impact when she’d hit the ground, though she reached her hand out to try and stop herself by grabbing the door, inadvertently grabbing his arm instead.

Silas stayed by the door, not wanting to walk away until she was fully in the truck, which seemed to be a good idea when she started to fall. He reached out as she grabbed his arm, catching her before she could hit the ground. He looked down at her and smiled a bit, "careful, it's a little tricky." He said softly as he helped her onto her feet.

When Cosette didn’t hit the ground, she opened her eyes and found herself in Silas’s arms. She felt her cheeks flush, mostly with embarrassment of falling, but also with how close she was suddenly to him. “Sorry, I took my eyes off for one second.” She made the excuse, hoping it was believable as she righted herself and tried once again. This time she made sure she put more effort into reaching for the handle, and was glad to find herself in the passenger seat this time.

"It's alright, I'm just glad you didn't get hurt." He told her. Once she was sat in the truck he closed her door and headed over to his side, pulling himself in without much effort and starting it up. "Sorry if it's a little dusty, I use this truck around the farm." He explained as he buckled up and pulled out of the parking lot, heading towards town.

“Nah, I’m not at all hurt,” Cosette said, though her face flushed with heat at the memory, “Well, maybe my ego.” She joked, feeling like that was pretty bruised because she fell. She shrugged when he apologized about how dusty the truck was, “Hard to keep dirt and dusty out.” It was the same when she went to competitions and the dirt from the arena and competing rings were tracked into the vehicle she’d been driving.

"Good," Silas smiled, he would have felt terrible if she had gotten hurt and their day ended with a trip to the emergency room. "I mean, not about your ego, about you being okay." He added, feeling a slight flush on his cheeks as he gripped his steering wheel just a bit tighter. "Yeah...it's near impossible to keep clean when working with livestock I suppose."
