Cosette nodded and counted to three in her head as she bounced on her toes. She reached out for the handle and caught it this time, hoisting herself into the truck. “By the end of the school year I’ll be a pro.” She laughed, not thinking about how that sounded like she was planning to take rides from him all the time.

Silas stayed ready in case she fell again but to his relief she managed to get into the truck. He was about to close the door for her when he heard her comment, tilting his head and chuckling a little, "we'll see, once you master this then you'll have to climb up in the back to help buck hay." He winked, completely joking but wanted to see what she'd say. He closed the door and hopped into the drivers side, starting up the truck and heading back towards the school.

Cosette’s mile faded, grimacing at the idea of such hard labor, even if she had done it with her grandpa. “I think I’ll be very busy teaching at those times.” She teased, checking out her nails like they were more interesting than the fact that he had winked at her just now. As he walked around the truck, she forced herself to focus on buckling herself in, and then looking out th window as he drove them back, parking next to her car at the barn. "Thanks again, for your help." She gave him a small smile as she gathered her purse and to go box and unbuckling herself.

"Oh, how convenient." Silas chuckled, lapsing into a comfortable silence as he drove back to the barn. "You're welcome, I'm glad I could help you out." He said as he parked by her car and hopped out of the truck after cutting the engine. He walked over to her side and opened the door for her, offering a hand to help her down if she needed it.

“I’m glad you could too, I’d probably still be moving the boxes inside.” Cosette laughed as she looked down at his hand before taking it and stepping down from his truck. “Now, time to sort through it all.” She groaned at the thought, but knew it needed to be done.

Silas chuckled, "then you'd have all the muscle built up for bucking hay." He joked, giving her an easy smile, "now unpacking and sorting through stuff is where I draw the line, I'd probably put everything in all the wrong spots."

“Don’t worry, I’ve got that handled,” Cosette chuckled as she unlocked her car and placed the to go box in the front seat. “Thanks again, and I guess I’ll see you later.” She figured they’d have to share the same space again, though she hoped they could go riding again soon. She slipped into the driver side and started it up, waving goodbye once more before driving back to the school.

Silas laughed, walking around to the back of his truck and leaning against it as he watched her go, giving her a little wave back before pushing away from his truck and going into the barn to finish up a few things before going home.
