“Alright, that’s important,” Audrey didn’t have to worry about getting scholarships, she needed to worry about what she was going to do after high school when she told her parents she had no plans for college. Why waste time and money when she was just going to marry rich anyways. “I guess you can’t slack off then, how unfortunate,” She pouted a little, but was just having a little fun poking at him. She didn’t care that he was going to school on a scholarship, at least that meant he was smart. She shrugged when he asked about getting straight As. “Boredom? Lazy? I’m not that smart honestly.” She knew she was never going to get perfect scores or be top in her class. The highest grade she got was a B+ and that had shocked her a little. She at least didn’t fail any of her classes, which used to keep her dad happy, but now he seemed hellbent on forcing her to get better grades.

Tyson nodded, a bit relieved when she didn't make fun of him for being a scholarship kid or having to keep his grades up. "I don't really have time to slack off, especially when it's time for me to juggle sports." He shrugged as they walked, eyeing her from the side, "you don't seem like that to me." He told her, she may not have the same priorities at him but since they started talking it was like he could see the gears turning in her head plus...she had a nice smile and the type of aura that made you feel kind of good and...important if she was giving you attention and he wasn't too sure how he felt about that yet.

Audrey made a face, “So that means I’ll only have the summer to enjoy your company then?” she asked, slightly feeling sad about it, but it wasn’t like she didn’t plan on making other friends. She also hoped Tahlia wouldn’t abandon her, although she did today just to make out with a boy, even if that was her idea. She shrugged again, not really worried about school. “I get by well enough. I’m not failing that’s for sure.” She was sure if she did get an F or even a D her father would cut her off money completely.

Tyson shrugged, not thinking that she'd actually be sad about it or think about him again once school started up. "Well...we'll be on the same campus if that counts for anything." He offered and ran a hand through his hair, frowning when his fingers got stuck on a few of his curls. "Well I guess that's what matters, not failing I mean."

Audrey smirked, “So if we are in the same classes, can we pass notes.” She battered her eyelashes, though she laughed after a few seconds. She hadn’t passed notes to anyone since elementary school, but the thought of shooting a football note across the room sounded fun. She winced when his fingers got caught in his hair, “Do you need help with that?” She asked, part of her wondering what it felt like to run her fingers through his hair, though at the moment, it probably would just get as tangled as he was now.

"Oh," Tyson was dumbstruck for a moment by the way she was looking at him but her laughter quickly snapped him out of it, "I guess we could but if we get in trouble I'm blaming you." He replied, grimacing when he tried to pull his fingers from his hair again but that only seemed to make it worse. He looked at Audrey with pleading eyes, "I think I do."

Audrey shrugged her shoulders, “Go ahead and blame me, I’m used to it,” She was the bad daughter after all, she wouldn’t be if she wasn’t blamed for everything. She watched him trying to pull his fingers from his hair and wasn’t successful, grimacing at the possible pain to her tender head she would have felt if it was her. “Here, sit down.” She motioned for him to take a seat on a log near the edge of the lake, probably put there to look at the scenery of the gross lake.

If he could have Tyson would have shaken his head no but any extra kind of movement was only going to cause him pain. "I was kidding." He told her as he slowly moved over to the log she was pointing to and set down, feeling like a complete idiot.

“I wasn’t,” Audrey chuckled, not really caring about being called failure of the family. She had her own path, and she was following it, it made her happy so other people could suck it. She walked to stand behind him and inspected his hair first. “Alright, I think I see the problem.” She said and started untangling his hand from his hair, combing out the tangles as she went.

Tyson frowned at the way she said that, not liking it one bit but could he even do anything about it or why would he even want to do anything about it? She was still a stranger, but a stranger who was helping him with his own stupidity. He stayed quiet as she worked his fingers from his hair until finally they came free and he dropped them into his lap with a sigh, "thanks Audrey."

It wasn’t hard to detangle Tyson from himself, “Don’t do it again until you’ve brushed those tangles out,” She guessed it tangled up after they had fallen in water, which wouldn’t be hard for his curly hair to do as it dried. She took a seat next to him on the log and looked out over the lake, “Have you been to this camp before?” She asked, wondering if he’d been attending Mountain Ridge too.

"I won't," Tyson nodded, looking at his hands with a slight frown, now wanting to fun them through his hands again but chalked it up to wanting to do something just because he was told not to. "No, my brother really wanted to go this year and our mom would only let him if I went too. My brother can be kind of...wild." He grimaced a little as he wondered what Erick could possibly be doing.

Audrey raised an eyebrow, wondering who his brother was and how wild this kid could be. She thought about how she’d been before being sent here to this camp, where she couldn’t just take a car and head into town like she used to, now she would have to walk or risk asking a counselor. “So, are you supposed to keep an eye on him this summer?” She wondered if he wouldn’t want to sneak out to town, go dancing, or just chill somewhere. Anywhere was better than hanging around here for hours. Would he want to even try with him babysitting his brother? Although, she realized, she was supposed to be doing the same thing.

"Yeah, I'm supposed to," Tyson nodded, "but...he should be able to have fun and as long as he doesn't get in too much trouble I don't think I really need to. Erick is a good kid, just a bit impulsive." He shrugged, it wasn't like his little brother tried to get in trouble or did malicious things, he was just energetic and up for anything, which some times got him in sticky situations.

“That makes two of us, well, Victoria really doesn’t like going outside her bubble,” Audrey smirked, though it wasn’t full of sarcasm or mischief, it was mostly sad since she was sure her parents favored Victoria over her. She knew it wasn’t true, but she couldn’t help but feel like she was just an extra for her parents. “But that means it’s easier for me to have my own fun.” Though if her parents ever found out she didn’t keep her eyes on her sister, she might get into bigger trouble.

Tyson nodded, "Erick has always been more of the...social butterfly, so he's probably already made a million friends and is busy doing something." He explained with a smile, sometimes he was envious of his brother and how easy it was for him to make friends, but at least Tyson was able to give himself some credit right now, he was talking to someone new after all. "Are you...having fun sitting here and talking with me even though I dumped you in a lake?"

Audrey thought about how Victoria was very selective about her friendships, she was shocked when her sister had dumped all her previous friends when they headed out for camp this summer. As if she was wanting a new life. She turned to look at him, tilting her head to the side, and gave him a big smile. “I find fun wherever I go, so yes. I’m having fun.” She laughed at the fresh memory of falling into the lake, thinking at least she wasn’t wearing white.

Tyson felt his shoulders relax when she said she was having fun, not sure why but it mad him feel relieved that she didn't feel forced to stick around. "Just making sure," he laughed a little, managing a small bit of a smile as he looked back at her, "are you going to that bonfire tonight?"

Audrey raised an eyebrow at Tyson but didn’t prod him for why it mattered so much, they had just met after all. If he decided he didn’t want her around, she’d be sad, but move on. “Hmmmm, maybe for a little, I have plans to sneak off to town.” She decided Tyson wasn’t going to tattle, but she partly hoped he’d want to join her.

Tyso nodded, not too surprised by her answer. He had heard a few rumors about students sneaking out in the evening to go party and do God knows what. He didn't have much interest in doing anything like that, figuring he'd check out the bonfire and check on his brother then go back to his cabin to do some reading for the upcoming school year or sleep. "Huh, well, have fun when you do."

Audrey pouted, “No way I can convince you to come out then?” She wondered if she could bribe him with something, though she didn’t think he’d like alcohol, and since they hadn’t made out earlier like Tahlia and what’s his name had, she had a feeling she couldn’t seduce him.

Tyson hesitated, glancing away from her. Go out to party or club? That wasn't really his thing, the idea of being in a large crowd with people squeezed close together made his pulse jump. "I'm not really good at the whole going out and dancing kind of stuff." He admitted, "it's not really my thing."

Audrey continued to pout as he talked about not being good at dancing, it not being his thing, even with this knowledge she was now determined to make him go out dancing with her one night. “Alright, well, I’ll get you to go out dancing one night. Doesn’t have to be tonight.” She smirked.

Tyson raised an eyebrow at her, trying not to laugh at the idea of her convincing him to go to a party. He bet the second she got him to one and saw how awkward he was she would regret it in a heart beat and ditch him. "Uh huh," was all he said, "I'd like to see you try."

Audrey couldn’t stop the big smile from spreading across her face. “Don’t challenge me Tyson, I’ll do it.” He’d learn soon enough she wasn’t the type to back down from anything, and this was just something for her to conquer. “So, the bonfire. Is it really any fun?” She couldn’t see it being all that grand, nothing compared to the night club life she was used to.

Tyson couldn't stop his small smile from turning into a grin from the look on her face, "too late, I'm already challenging you." He teased, wondering what exactly she would try to do to get him out and about. "Well it's going to have s'mores so that's bound to make it good." He told her.

Audrey was already deciding not to try and drag Tyson from camp to town, she figured he had already settled. The big challenge would be while they were at school, which made her happy to know they’d be spending more than just the summer together. “I’ll work something out,” She would, eventually there was something that would get him to the clubs. “Smores are good, I guess, but not enough to make the bonfireoutrageously fun.” Granted her type of fun involved alcohol and making out with boys.

"Uh huh, I'm sure you will." Tyson chuckled, feeling his clothes tighten a little from the way he was drying out. "S'mores are the best, they're the only reason to go to a bonfire in the first place." He pointed out, "they never taste as good as they do when roasted over a fire."

Audrey shrugged, “Didn’t really do the whole campfire thing growing up.” Her family may have lit a fir in the fireplace, or even the firepit, but it was mostly for aesthetic reasons. “This is probably the closest I’ve been to actually camping.” Her mother hated the outdoors, unless it was her garden, that she didn’t touch except to cut roses for her vases inside.

"So you've never really done this before and the first night you want to leave?" Tyson asked her, wondering why she'd want to do that instead of trying something new when an idea popped into his head. An idea he was probably going to end up regretting but his mouth was moving before he could decide otherwise. "I'll make you a deal, you do one day and night of actually participating in this camp and I'll go out to a party."
