Blake raised an eyebrow at her admitting neither were someone she’d want to make out with, though smirked when he thought about if she’d make out with him. He hoped that was true, he wouldn’t mind a little summer fling before school started. “Alright,” He shrugged, then debated on what to call her then. “Guess I could call you IT then.” He chuckled as he shrugged his own lifejacket off, wondering how quickly they’d get yelled at by the counselor.

Cordelia narrowed her eyes at him, shaking her head, "now that's one way to make a girl lose interest in you." She replied dryly, he seemed to be good with jokes but apparently playing flirty games wasn't his forte. She tucked some hair behind her ear and looked back into the water, it was clear but all she could see was the rocks and few scatterings of weeds.

Blake laughed, “That’s fine, plenty of fish in the… Lake.” He teased, knowing if she wasn’t interested, he wasn’t going to push it. There were plenty of other girls at this camp, and even then, there was school to think about. After everything with his parents, he was ready to just let loose and have fun. “Alright, don’t call you it. I could just call you, that chick.” He continued to tease.

Cordelia rolled her eyes, about to jump into the lake herself if this kept happening. She thought she was being obvious enough but apparently not. She groaned when he continued, carefully turning to face him, "you call me that and I'm definitely going to lose all interest in you." She frowned at him.

Blake raised an eyebrow, “Interest? How can you have an interest in someone you don’t even know their name.” He figured she could be interested in getting to know him, but he wasn’t sure she’d like what she found underneath. “Chick is better, could be a sewer clown.” He chuckled.

Cordelia stared back at him, for a moment wishing she had her paddle so she could splash him with it. "If they're cute and funny that makes it easy," she replied as she looked at him, raising her own eyebrow, "I think clown might be a better fighting name for you at this rate." She said with a slight smile.

“Hey, you just said some clowns are cute and funny, so I’ll take being called a clown a compliment.” Blake chuckled, winking from behind his sunglasses that he forgot he was wearing. He picked up his paddle again and started paddling, seeing as the group was already turning around and going in random directions. “Which way shall we go your majesty?” he figured at least she couldn’t be offended by that, though he was still teasing a little.

Cordelia shook her head but there was still a smile crossing her lips, "sure, take the compliments where you can find them." She said, turning and looking ahead, sitting up a little bit as if she was some form of royalty "hmmmm," she looked around, seeing that a few people had peeled off from the group when something caught her eye, "over there." She pointed to any area where water seemed to flow into a different area, a few trees curling over it like an arch and whatever was beyond out of view.

Blake didn’t want to say he was always trying to find the good out of the bad, including compliments. It was either that or be angry about the things he couldn’t control, like how his family fell apart. He looked in the direction she was pointing “Alright, lets check it out.” He started paddling in that direction.

Cordelia leaned on her hands, keeping her eyes on the opening between the trees, wondering if maybe she shouldn't have tried flirting, it didn't seem to have worked. She frowned a little bit but tried to ignore the feeling, it wasn't a big deal. As they got closer to the spot she leaned forward, eyes widening as the canoe slid into a hidden pond with its own sandy beach but was otherwise surrounded by trees and bushes, giving a decent amount of privacy. "Well this is cool."

Blake let the silence fall between them, knowing he’d probably said something wrong, but he was used to that. He usually didn’t say whatever might please someone else, just what he was thinking. He looked around the hidden little area and smiled “Wow, this is a pretty nice spot.” He thought about coming here just to relax, hide from the crazy counselors, maybe even have a small party here, if they could figure out how to sneak booze in.

Cordelia looked back at him and nodded, her own ideas of how to use the spot, some similar to his, coming to mind. "This is the perfect hidden area away from camp," she said, not able to see any cabins from where they were at but figured it would be worth a little hike out here to have some privacy and luckily the water didn't look too gross if she ever decided to swim. She looked away from the water and straight up, seeing the only a few branches crisscrossed in the air, leaving most of the sky exposed, "I bet this would be great for swimming at night."

Blake smirked as he pulled in closer to the little beach. “Did you point me this direction to have you way with me?” He teased, wiggling his eyebrows. Though he looked up at the mention of a nighttime swim and noticed you could probably see the stars through the branches if the sky was clear of clouds.

Cordelia laughed, "oh absolutely, you figured out my plan." She joked as she looked back at him, wondering if he would be interested in actually doing anything. "I totally plotted pairing up with you and losing my paddle, I even got the twins in on it." She continued to joke.

“I knew it, all along I thought they were my friends,” Blake shook his had like he was actually sad and disappointed, but ended up laughing as the canoe came to a stop at the little beach area. “I wonder if there’s already a trail from the main one.” He was hoping if there was, it would be easy to find again, using the main trail that wound around the entire lake.

Cordelia laughed as he went along with it and looked along the beach. She carefully got up in the canoe and hopped out, the water splashing against her feet shot a chill up her back but it didn't stop her from walking onto the beach and looking around, "there has to be, it's probably just over grown a little." Which shouldn't be a problem, unless there was poison ivy growing over it.

Blake waited till she was out of the canoe before tossing his paddle to the bottom of it and stepped out. He pulled it further onto land, so it didn’t just disappear on them while they explored. Usually, he would have worried about causing problems at camp, but he realized things were different now. “Don’t want to run into that stuff.” Especially at the thought of doing it at night when they couldn’t be one hundred percent it wasn’t the plant.

"It would be the quickest way to ruin the summer," Cordelia grimaced a little, "mosquitos are bad enough without having to worry about plants making you itchy." As she spoke she looked around the plants that bordered the beach, so far they looked normal to her but it wasn't like she was some kind of plant expert. She walked along the edge, searching for a sign of a trail when she noticed a little dip where the plant cover seemed a little sparce. "Hey, this might be an old trail."

Blake walked around the edge of the beach and forest, not really looking for a trail, but he picked up a stick and was poking at some questionable leaves when she called out about a possible trail. He walked over and checked it out, “Seems like it.” He took his stick and cleared out the small amount of plant cover, tossing it into the forest to the right of the small path.

Cordelia looked at the spot he had cleared but didn't take any farther steps, instead trying to peer forward. "I bet it goes right to camp or at least connects with a trail, that'll make things way easier." She said, thinking they'd have to add some markers along the way but nothing too obvious that would allow the counselors to find this spot.

“Probably to that trail that winds around the lake,” Blake said, taking a few steps onto the trail, debating on walking until he found the trail, or at least something that meant he could mark where this trail started for alter. He used the stick he’d found to clear the trail, finding it surprisingly easy, as if this used to be a spot the camp used but had in the last few years.

She nodded but wasn't sure what trail he was talking about, "right." She said slowly, glancing back at the pond then took a few steps after Blake, "I suppose there isn't any harm in exploring a bit, no one seems to have noticed us missing yet." But she wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a concerning thing that they could be gone from the group for so long and not be noticed.

“Even if they come looking, we lost a paddle, takes us a little longer to get around,” Blake chuckled, smirking as he looked over his shoulder at her. It wasn’t that big of a deal, he’d been ready to paddle on his own before anyways. It didn’t take long though to reach the trail he’d been thinking about. “Yes, this is it. This main trail heads back to the camp.” He wasn’t sure which direction, but that wouldn’t matter till they came back. “How should we mark it.” He frowned, knowing the trail was easily spotted now, but he didn’t want to worry about picking the wrong one when they were wanting to just show up and have fun.

Cordelia nodded, not quite buying it but she supposed it only mattered if people came looking for them. She followed him along the path, looking around at the little insects that darted about until they connected with the main trail that Blake confirmed connected to camp. She looked at Blake then at the trail with a little frown. "Well..." she stepped around Blake and spotted a bush that was growing where the trails met and crouched down, taking some of the more pliable branches and braiding them together, "what about this? That way only people who know what to really look for can find it?"

Blake nodded his head, “Good idea, don’t want everyone at this camp to hear about this place and crash it.” He was only thinking about Jake, Reed, Samuel, and his brother, though he wasn’t sure who Cordelia would bring back, but figured they could all have a nice little party. He took the stick he used to clear the path and stuck it in the branches of the nearby tree, pointing down the path sort of. “Alright, guess we should head back.” He wasn’t looking forward to paddling all the way back, but at least it wasn’t raining or cold.

"Exactly," Cordelia agreed, looking at where Blake put his stick and gave an approving nod. She wasn't entirely looking forward to heading back to the pond and having to rejoin the other people canoeing. "I can try paddling back if you want," she offered, "I promise not to lose this paddle." She added with a slight grimace.

“Nah, this camp doesn’t have a gym, gotta get my reps in somehow,” Blake teased, flexing his arms and patting his bicep as if proof that he worked out, which, he hadn’t worked out since school was out. He figured the second he got onto campus he might have to just to keep his muscles for baseball, but he’d enjoy the camp life a little longer. He pushed the canoe out just enough for him to turn it around and brought it back in so she could step in. “So… Are you bringing people to the spot tonight?”

She giggled a little when he flexed his arm, shaking her head, "oh right right, how could I forget." She joked and followed him back to the pond. She stood on the shore as he turned the canoe around, smiling a little bit as she carefully got in and took her place again but turned to look at him, tilting her head, "well...I had an idea of someone to invite...if you aren't planning on bringing other people here."

Once Blake settled into the seat, rocking the boat a little before he grabbed the paddle and started up, “Well I did, if you don’t remember the lovely singing group from the bonfire.” He chuckled, remembering how they all just started singing, though he was sure the blond chick was going to curse them all for it. “I think your friend would have slapped us all if she could.” He laughed.

When the boat rocked Cordelia couldn't stop herself from grabbing onto the edges, which was silly considering they were in barely a couple feet of water but she was still relieved when they didn't tip. "Oh, I remember," she laughed, it was definitely something she hadn't expected but had found a little charming, but mostly hilarious, especially with Shannon's reaction. "Oh she definitely would have but...I was thinking along the lines of something else," she said, biting lightly into her lower lip, "like maybe...me and you coming back?"
