“Nah, grab whatever you want,” Blake said as he watched her from the side strip down to her bathing suit. He stripped off his shirt, figuring they were going to take a dip first, wondering how cold it was. “It’s not freezing, is it?” He asked with a smirk but started making his way towards the water to test it out himself.

"Cool, thanks." She smiled but wasn't interested in snacking just yet. Instead she walked back over to the water with him, laughing a little. "Don't worry, if it's too cold I'll help warm you up." She teased, walking deeper into the water as a shiver ran up her back but thankfully she adjusted to the temperature quickly. Once the water was up to her thighs she dove in, a shiver wracking her body but she swam until she needed air, pushing towards the surface until her head broke through and she took a breath.

Blake smirked, raising an eyebrow at her, “I hope you’re being sarcastic,” he teased, winking at her as they took their first steps into the water. It was cold, but not freezing like he’d expected it to be, wondering if the trees and plants that covered this area kept it a little warmer by protecting against the wind. He didn’t dive in so graciously as she did, instead he just fell backwards into the water, letting his body slowly float to the surface. “This is actually really nice.” He sighed, feeling like he as in one of those special spas.

"Uh huh." Cordelia rolled her eyes but smiled, "you'll see." She relaxed in the water, swimming for a little while as Blake just floated, letting her mind focus on what she was doing rather than what she was wanting until her arms got tired and she was left to float as well, looking up at the sky. "It is, not loud like camp is."

Blake was slightly worried he’d fall asleep and drift into the lake, or even drown. He had a feeling she wouldn’t let that happen, maybe, he felt like she didn’t like him all that much, just enough to tolerate him. “Camps pretty fun though.” He had to admit, it as better than dealing with life back home where his dad was dead and his mom was MIA, as usual.

"Yeah, it's not bad," Cordelia agrees as she watches the stars come out, seemingly one by one. Anything was better than being stuck at her parents stuffy house or at one of those pretentious parties."Even with the paddle eating lake monster." She joked.

Blake shivered at the image of there being a monster in the lake that liked paddles. “Let’s hope it doesn’t have a taste for human flesh.” He chuckled, thinking they’d be safe if it only wanted paddles. He let the silence fall between them once again, though that didn’t last long, “So, my name’s Blake. I know we didn’t get around to introducing ourselves.” He teased, knowing he’d been an ass before.

"If it does, you'll make the perfect sacrifice." She teased back but didn't believe that some kind of beast was roaming the waters in search of its next meal. She relaxed in the silence as she watched the stars until he broke it and was unable to hold back a little laugh, "oh, so now you're interested," she joked, eyeing him from the side, "I'm Cordelia."

Blake faked astonishment on his face at her willing to sacrifice him, “Alright, considered yourself tripped in the zombie apocalypse.” He chuckled, hoping either he’d be long dead before that happened, or it never did. He shrugged his shoulders, “Interests change for me,” he joked, though nodded his head when she told him her name. “Nice to officially meet you.” He teased.

Cordelia laughed when he said she'd be tripped, "bring it on, I'll just try to trip you first." She said though if the world ever came to that she didn't think she'd want to last that long, she'd probably just off herself so she wouldn't have to constantly be worried about getting eaten or something. "I suppose it does," she laughed a little, "it's nice to meet you too, even if we end up competing during an apocalypse or sacrificing each other to a lake monster."

“Gotta catch me first,” Blake had already planned out his survival for the zombie apocalypse, much like how he planned out surviving anything, even dealing with his father before he died. “This way we can give proper condolences to your sacrifice for my survival.” He laughed, sitting up and moving to sit at the water’s edge.

Cordelia laughed, imagining this like an intense game of tag where the loser gets sacrificed. It almost sounded like it could be a tv show plot. "You mean your sacrifice for my survival," she teased back, "I'll make sure to make you a nice memorial sculpture." She joked, swimming over and pulling herself up so she was sitting by him.

“Nah, honestly I’d probably just off myself if zombies were a thing, especially if my brother was already gone,” Blake didn’t see the point if Bobby was already dead, why live the rest of his life in fear of being killed by a zombie, getting eaten and turning into one, or worse, being murdered by people you thought you could trust. “Glad to know you’ll go on remembering me.” He chuckled.

Cordelia laughed, "honestly, I probably would too, I don't feel like running around paranoid about being eaten is really a way I'd want to live...or die by getting eaten by something." She shivered at the thought about that kind scenario. "But in that small amount of time I'm alive I'll try to give you an honorable statue." She teased.

“I would be building treehouses, not touching the ground,” Blake admitted, though wasn’t sure if that would work for zombies from World War Z, those things were terrifying. “Don’t forget, shoot yourself in the head, can’t be turning afterwards.” He joked, sitting up a little straighter. “I’ll do the same should you go down.” He laughed.

"Okay, that would be cool though." Cordelia said, thinking about how nice it would be to be up in the air and away from everything, even if that included a zombie apocalypse. Regardless she hoped it didn't happen, she'd rather endure the world as it was where she didn't have to worry as much about being eaten. "Oh okay, I'll right that down, good tip." She laughed, tilting her head to look over at him. "Where are you from?"

“I mean, cool if the zombies can’t climb,” Blake chuckled, again, hoping if that were to happen, that they weren’t crazy climbing ones. “Hopefully we’ll be long dead before that happens,” He grimaced, but still held a smile on his face. He thought about her question of here he was from, thinking about his hometown that was filled with nothing but bad memories. “Grew up in Avalon Bay. A little beach town in Virginia.”

"Yeah, I hope so too." She laughed a little, of course she hoped nothing like that ever happened and she doubted it would be hey, you never knew. "That sounds like a nice place," she said, thinking it sounded like the kind of place her parents would consider going to if there was a nice resort or country club, but of course they would go on vacation while she and her brother were left behind.

Blake kept a straight face when she said the place sounded nice, only because it was a nice place to live, if you were rich and didn’t have shitty parents. “It’s pretty neat, though a lot of the buildings are in constant repair because of hurricanes.” He chuckled, knowing several buildings stood vacant now because people couldn’t afford to rebuild or they were waiting for workers to get started. “Are you from around here?” he asked, scooting a little closer.

Cordelia nodded, thinking that living in a town that was under constant construction wasn't that great. "Oh, I didn't think about hurricanes," she grimaced a little, the expression deepening a little when he asked about where she was from. She could easily lie and pretend like she didn't come from a life of privilege but what was the point? "No, I'm from New York, but I went to Mountain Ridge last year."

“Yeah, for some reason we get hit there a lot, and people still live there.” To be fair, Blake thought, their house on the beach hadn’t been hit since it was built, which was a miracle, but other places didn’t fair so well.” He raised an eyebrow when she admitted she’d attended Mountain Ridge last year. “Why not a school in New York?” he asked, leaning back on his hands, looking up through the trees towards the sky.

"Because I hate New York." Cordelia laughed, more so it was the people in New York that she hated but she wasn't going to get into that. She leaned her head a little towards his as she spoke. "The city sucks, I like how quiet it is out here and it's not as...strict as other boarding schools. What about you? Why mountain ridge?"

Blake chuckled when she said she hated New York, having a feeling he’d probably feel the same way. He took a deep breath, not really wanting to talk about why he was headed for Mountain Ridge. He let out his breath slowly, “My parents thought it would be a good idea, get out of the town. Sort of had some bad dealings there.” He admitted, though it wasn’t the full truth. He as here because of what he’d done back in Avalon Bay after his mom took off and his dad died, but it was his Uncle that had sent his brother and him here.

"Good enough reason for me." Cordelia agreed, judging by the was he breathed and answered vaguely she wasn't going to push him to tell her anything, like how she wasn't planning on telling him much about her past. To her it was all over with now and even though her heart still panged for those good times she knew they were never coming back and there was no reason to hope or try to get them back. "It's nice...to be away family some times and be in a place where no one really knows you. She was able to admit.

Blake figured they didn’t need to go into depth about their past when he was pretty sure whatever this relationship was, would just be logged down with the depression. He nodded his head in agreement to being away from his family, though he missed his uncle, and his friends back home. He was glad he had Bobby here with him, the one family member he would never leave. The silence fell once more between them, being filled with the sounds of frogs, different bugs, and the wind shifting through the trees. After a few minutes, Blake decided to take a chance and leaned towards her, placing his lips on hers.

While a hook up had been at the front of Cordelia's mind when she had decided to come out here with Blake she was still shocked by the sudden kiss, stiffening for a moment before slowly leaning in and kissing him back. After how her last relationship had ended up she wasn't searching for another boyfriend, rather she was wanting to have fun and just let come and go and whatever happened would happen. She wasn't that girl with sugary sweet ideas anymore, she was realistic and wanted to enjoy herself, not wanting to have to change to fit anyone's molds or expectation in a way where she had to sacrifice pieces of her self.

Blake hadn’t been confident that she’d kiss him back, but had hoped he would, though he was waiting for her to slap him for just outright kissing her. When she didn’t pull away or scream at him, he leaned in closer, deepening the kiss. He wasn’t sure if this would go beyond just making out but he wasn’t going to complain about it.

Blake wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her closer to him, figuring since she wasn’t pushing him away, he was cleared for landing. (XD END ON THAT NOTE)
