“Alright everyone! Grab a paddle, a lifejacket, and a partner before heading to the waters edge!” Blake had only agreed to go canoeing because Reed and Jake said they were going to. He didn’t realize they wouldn’t actually be in a canoe together, seeing as everyone was being paired up in teams of two, so of course Reed and Jake were already a built-in team. Bobby had decided to take a nap after they had come back from playing flag football and he was starting to wish he had done the same now. He grabbed a paddle from the pile and headed for the counselor handing out lifejackets, wishing they didn’t have to wear the ugly things, but knew it would be a liability for the camp if they didn’t and drowned.

Cordelia had been content to spend the day sitting on the dock and sketching while listening to Spotify on her phone but the second she stepped foot outside of her cabin one of the counselors and practically demanded her to get ready for canoeing and being unable to find her voice she had turned around, changed, and went down to the lake, cursing a little bit at her choice in swim suit but at the time when she had packed it she had felt ten times more confident, now she felt like if she wasn't careful she might pop one of the straps of her top. She fidgeted while listening to the instructor and grabbed a lifejacket and paddle but when it came to find herself a partner she was stuck in place, not sure who she would end up with.

Blake stood by a green canoe, hands and chin on his paddle as he leaned on it, waiting for a partner to join him. He watched several couples walk by and he couldn’t help but wonder if the guy would try to scare her by rocking the boat. It would be funny if one of them accidentally tipped over. “Wonder what happens if I end up without a partner.” He hoped the counselors would let him go out on his own, or maybe he’d just hang out on the beach, though that sounded kind of boring and pathtic.

Cordelia looked between all the partners, wondering if there was an odd number that would leave her out. If that was the case she could take the moment and sneak away. She was about to give up when she spotted a familiar face in very bright shorts who apparently didn't have a partner either. She took her paddle and slowly walked over to him, "you need a partner?"

Blake was about to give up on having a partner when a familiar person walked up. “Well, at the moment maybe, I’m seeing what my best options are.” He teased, standing up from leaning on the paddle. “Who roped you into this?” he asked with a chuckle.

Cordelia rolled her eyes but smiled, "I made the mistake of being seen by one of the counselors when I left my cabin earlier, I felt like if I said now she'd drag me out by my hair or something." She joked, squeezing her paddle a little as she kept an easy smile on her face, "though I guess if you're looking for your best options for a partner I should move along, so you don't waste your time." She joked, acting like she was going to walk away before pausing and looking around, seeing that everyone else was partnered up, "oh darn it, looks like the best people are already taken, guess you're stuck with me."

Blake grimaced, “And you just gave in, wow, gotta fight at least a little first, throw in a punch to her stomach,” He teased, knowing he’d probably do the same thing if she was talking about the one counselor who liked to drag people into things. After he and the guys had finished singing to the blonde, the counselor basically begged them to sing and play Wonderwall. Blake smirked as she walked away, already knowing there wasn’t anyone else. He had seen everyone paired up already or making their way into the canoe and onto the lake already. “Don’t worry, at least we don’t have to get paired up with… You know who.” He chuckled, watching the other counselor who was there to watch everyone deal with the counselor who had dragged Cordelia here.

Cordelia laughed, shaking her head, "yes, because violence is always the answer." She joked, if that was the case she probably would have decked a couple of her old 'friends' before she had been moved to Graymore. She followed Blake's gaze to the counselors, grimacing slightly, "yeah, I'll gladly be your partner, if I get stuck with Lauren I'll jump out of the canoe." She joked.

“It is when you’re fighting for your life, now look at you, stuck with me,” Blake smirked as he grabbed his life vest and slipped it on, but didn’t buckle it completely. “Ready to hit the lake?” he asked, chuckling, “With a paddle. Several times.” He laughed at his stupid joke as he pushed the canoe, he’d been standing next to into the lake, enough that it would be easy for them to paddle without getting stuck, but close enough for them to get in.

"Hey, I gotta pick and choose my battles." Cordelia joked as she shrugged on her life jacket, but like Blake left it undone, feeling like an overstuffed marshmallow if it was closed up, besides she was confident enough in her swimming abilities that if she did fall over board she'd be fine. Her eyebrow raised along with the corner of her mouth at his joked, "I suppose to." She helped him with the canoe, glancing over at him, "front or back?"

“Well, if I am gonna hold the canoe for you to get in, I should probably sit in the back.” Blake could only imagine how tough it would be if he tried to get into the front seat getting in second. He held onto the end of the canoe, tossing his paddle into the rear as he waited for her to step in. “Promise I wont tip it while you get in.” He chuckled, though wasn’t making any promises once out on the lake about rocking it.

"Better not." She teased, not thinking he'd really do that but she couldn't stop herself from looking at him with a slight suspicion. Before he said anything she carefully stepped into the front of the canoe, holding her paddle across her lap, not wanting to drop it.

Blake kept the canoe straight, not letting it get too wild in its movements as Cordelia stepped into it. When he felt she was settled, he worked his way into the canoe without tipping them over, which shocked him, and sat down, grabbing the paddle from where he placed it. “Alright, ready to canoe into the lake? To see… The lake?” he teased.

Cordelia stiffened, willing herself to stay as still as possible until he was in the canoe and they were pushing off from shore. She dipped her paddle in the water and started with slow stroked but laughed a bit. "Wow, that was very....insightful." She joked, "I'm hoping the water will be clear enough to see some fish or maybe some frogs or turtles."

Blake shrugged, but held a smile on his face, “I mean, it’s not a river or anything, so what w see is what we get.” It was too bad there wasn’t even a little river to ride down, something more exciting than paddling around in a circle with a bunch of others. “But it is a pretty decent sized Lake.” He had to admit at least it would take a while to reach the other side and paddle back.

"Well this is supposed to be calm canoe trip not a white water rafting expedition." She joked, already peering down at the water to see if there was anything swimming about but so far all she saw her weeds reaching towards the surface with bubbles drifting up between them. "It is a nice size and I heard pretty deep in some spots if you know where to look."

“Not all rivers have rapids,” Blake would not go down in any form of rapids in a canoe, he felt that was asking to die. He paddled along as he looked out over the lake. Spotting Reed and Jake fighting with each other on who was paddling what side. “So, there could be something living in this lake we don’t even know about.” He said in a tone that sounded like he was blown away by this idea. But he knew better than to think there was a Loch Ness monster loving in a random lake in Maine.

Riell waved a hand, "yeah but you never know until it's too late." She said as she looked around, frowning a little when some of the weeds pulled at her paddle but she managed to keep her grip as they continued on their way across the lake. She laughed at the idea of a lake monster but couldn't bring herself to look back at him for fear of rocking the canoe, "maybe, but I'm thinking more of a beaver than some kind of lake monster."

Blake didn’t think the camp would allow them to attempt a river with rapids anyways, that seemed like a lawsuit in the making when some kid cracked their head open. “A beaver? How boring! Unless it’s a massive beaver that was affected by radiation being poured in by the barrels.” He teased, paddling along, finding that they had easily caught up to Reed and Jake. He gave them a wave, then the middle finger, before paddling past.

"Oh, like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles but beavers...that sounds way more terrifying." Cordelia laughed, oblivious to whatever shenanigans going on behind her. She looks ahead, still peering into the water as she paddled for the hopes of seeing something that she could use for drawing later.
Reed shot a glare at Blake, flipping him the bird in return but Jake leaned in, whispering a plan. Reed glare turned into a grin as the twins paddled after them. Jake kept the canoe steady as possible as Reed got ready, the two pulling up behind Blake and Reed pulled back his paddle as far as he could before sending it sailing into the water with a loud splash, a wave of water cresting up and hitting Blake in the back while some went over him, landing on Cordelia's back. The twins laughed as they both paddled, passing Blake and Cordelia.
As soon as the cold water hit her bear skin Cordelia couldn't stop herself from squealing in shock, turning to look at Blake, "what the heck was that for?" She asked, not made but more shocked...and not noticing as her paddle slid out of her hands and into the water, drifting away.

Blake could hear someone trying to catch up to them, he assumed it was the twins and as long as they didn’t tip them over, he didn’t car what they did. When the splash hit him, he ducked as if something was going to fly over his head. He was about to tell the guys what a lousy prank that was when Cordelia whipped around to face him, but his eyes watched her drop the paddle instead. “Well, first off. You lost your paddle.” He looked around for it, but it seemed to have sunk to the bottom of the lake, how unfortunate. “Second, blame the twins for that, I got soaked.” He chuckled, feeling the water trickled down his back. “Kind of nice actually. Refreshing.”

"What?" Cordelia twisted back to look at her lap, fully expecting her paddle to be there but was horrified to see that it wasn't. She turned again, looking for her paddle in the water with the hopes of it being somewhere near by and floating but to her further dismay it was nowhere insight, "oh shit...I'm so sorry." She rubbed her forehead, now it'd be up to Blake to do all the work and it made her feel terrible, there should have been stored paddles in the canoe but when she looked there was nothing there. She glared at the back of the twins who were now far ahead before looking at Blake again, "...sorry." was all she could manage to say.

Blake shrugged, thinking at least they’d be far behind the twins for a while, making it easier to keep an eye on them. He smirked, wondering what he could do to get them back. “Don’t worry about it, but just know, I’m going after them.” He didn’t increase his pace though, he wasn’t about to let them know. He needed to think of what to do.

"And what are you gonna do to them?" She asked, feeling a bit warry as to what she signed up for, maybe she'd have to jump ship after all. Her hands rested on the bench she was sitting on and stared at the water as it rippled out from their little boat, perking up when she saw something, "there's a turtle!"

“I don’t know, the idea will come to me eventually,” Blake said as he turned to look at the turtle she just pointed out. “Sunbathing on a log, if only I could do that the rest of my life.” He teased. Though thinking about doing absolutely nothing forever sounded alright to him, sometimes.

Cordelia nodded slowly, wondering if he'd be able to come up with anything at all when it was time. She watched as the turtle looked at them and in a flash was gone, water washing up against the log the turtle had just been laying on. "No kidding, I'd love to do that." She agreed.

“If not now, later.” Blake smirked, knowing he could easily sneak into their cabin, granted that depended on him remembering or not being lazy about it. He learned a long time ago revenge didn’t do much. “So, I guess we should finally introduce ourselves, seeing as we are canoe buddies and all.” He chuckled, finding it strange how they hadn’t exchanged names yet.

"Wow, remind me to not be around at all when that happens." Cordelia joked, if the group did start a prank war she didn't want to be anywhere near it. She'd been a casualty once and didn't want to be one again. A smile played on her lips when he mentioned they should introduce themselves, "should we? Where the fun without a little mystery?" She teased, "I'm kind of curious to see how long it'll take you to figure out my name."

Blake chuckled, “Well, unless you plan to make out with one of them, you should be in the clear,” He teased as he pulled his paddle in and let the canoe float, checking out the lake, trying to see down into its depths. “Play a guessing game? No thanks, I’ll just never know your name.” He shrugged with indifference, though a smirk played on his lips.

"Hmm it's not one of them I would plan to make out with." Cordelia shrugged off her life jacket, seeing a few others had done the same and tucked it under the bench she was sitting on. She looked at Blake over her shoulder, raising an eyebrow, "then I guess you don't get a prize."
