Riell glanced at the bathroom door when Jeb went inside, frowning slightly but shook her head, sitting down in the arm chair by the couch and pulling her knees up to her chest as she flipped through streaming services on the tv. She looked over at Jeb when he spoke, tilting her head as she looked him over. "If you're tired enough, yes." She agreed.

Jeb moved his foot across the floor as if there was actually something there, “I probably will be up, I don’t sleep well.” He admitted, hating the next questions that usually came with this admission. ‘Why can’t you? Have you tried anything? Maybe it’s your phone.’ He had tried everything but going to the doctor, but that would involve a trip into Augusta.

Riell tilted her head as he stood there and admitted he didn't sleep well then shrugged, "okay, you want to watch something then? I don't sleep the best either." She told him, curling up a bit more in her arm chair. "If you need anything just let me know, I can get you something to drink or popcorn if you want it." She wasn't going to press him about his sleeping issues, just like she wouldn't press him about the drug use.

Jeb still stood there awkwardly, unsure where to sit or lay down, unsure what to do at this point. He hadn’t been in someone else’s house that wasn’t having a banger of a party. “Um. Popcorn would be nice.” He thought about warm buttery popcorn from the movies, knowing it wouldn’t be just like that, but close enough. “What movie?”

"I can swing that." Riell smiled and got up from her spot, glancing over at him as she walked into the kitchen. "Make yourself at home Jeb, take off your shoes and chill on the bed, as for movies, you can choose something if you want, I don't care what it is." Though, she did hope he wouldn't pick something super gory, she didn't think she could stomach something like that at the moment.

Jeb waited until she disappeared into another room before kicking off his shoes, a pair he’s had since high school, and sat down on the bed. He looked around and spotted the contorl she’d been using and started flicking through things before settling on Disney’s Coco.

As the popcorn cooked in the microwave Riell looked out from the kitchen, perking up a little when she recognized the movie. "You sure you don't need a drink? I have water, hot chocolate, milk, soda, almost anything." She offered to him, thinking that hot chocolate sounded pretty good.

Jeb sniffed and thought about her question, “Oh……. Um. Water. Should probably…. Do that.” That was a healthy choice, a small nod, and a fist pump for himself for remembering while high, he just had to actually drink it once he had it. Sometimes he’d forget and have the worst nightmares ever. He started humming to the start of the movie, once again happy that his high brain had picked something that wouldn’t end him with nightmares that weren’t bad, but why have nightmares when you can dream in the color of Coco.

"Alright, let me know if you change your mind." Riell told him and went back into the kitchen as the popcorn beeped. She emptied it into a large wooden bowl and got Jeb a glass of water, carrying it all to the living room. She set the bowl down by Jeb and held out the water, looking towards the tv. "I love this one." She said, smiling at the intro, finding the goofy looking dog adorable.

Jeb watched the movie, his eyes entranced with the color, his lips moving to the words, but he wasn’t singing, just humming along. He turned quickly when he saw the bowl of popcorn and looked up to Riell holding a glass of water to him. “Thanks.” He nodding his head, glad it as glass since it made him more likely to drink to avoid wet pants, and took a sip immediately, another pat to the back for him. "No scary things..." He admitted, figuring she knew he was high. The first dose was always a trip, the scondd one was the nice mellow ride he njoyed. He was getting better about getting out of the fog fast, but sometimese, the shadows were long.

Riell tilted her head when she saw the way he got into the movie, trying not to smile. "You're welcome." Her gaze softened when he mentioned there not being anything scary. "Nope, just family drama and redemption." She said, taking a handful of popcorn and sitting back down in her arm chair as she watched the movie, smiling a little as she hummed along to Miguels song Un Poco Loco.

Jeb hummed all through the movie, nodding off here and there, the second hit making him calm and quiet and sleepy. He hoped for pleasant dreams, but he was waiting for a certain part of the movie, the one that guaranteed a good night. Little man on the screen started playing the song, and when he started sing, so did Jeb, quietly, mumbling most of the words.

Riell relaxed into her seat as she snacked on popcorn and watched the movie but occasionally her eyes flickered over to Jeb, checking to see how he was faring but the second she realized he was singing along to the song Remember Me, something in her felt like it was fraying. She looked back to the screen, humming softly to the song as it continued.

Jeb felt his eyes sting when Coco started to sing, wishing it was that easy for him to get his dad back to the way he was before his mom died. It had been so long since her passing, he felt tired of taking care of himself. He closed his eyes and sighed, feeling a tear slid down his face.

Riell went to reach for the last of the popcorn when she noticed the tear on Jebs face. Without thinking she reached out, gently brushing the tear off of his face."This movie really knows how to pull at the heart strings." She said softly.

Jeb nodded his head slowly, barely feeling her brush his one tear away before everything went black, and he knew he was falling asleep. He dreamed of colors, or dogs chasing cats, or music and guitars, and he eventually dreamed of nothing. He wasn't sure how long he slept for, but he started to wake up when he smelled something delicious.

Riell looked at Jeb with a bit of worry until he was finally asleep. She got up, shutting off the tv and a few remaining lights except for the one in the hall and settled back in her chair with a throw blanket. She didn't want to sleep up in her left and miss out on being there for Jeb if he woke up for some reason.
In the morning, despite the lack of time spent sleeping Riell woke up, stretching out her stiff limbs with a soft groan. As she got up she leaned over Jeb, making sure he was still breathing before starting taking care of a few chores inside the house, doing her best to be quiet until her stomach rumbled. She glanced back at Jeb before going to the kitchen and starting to make breakfast, turning in a song from her phone, keeping it low as she sang along as she cooked, deciding to make pancakes, bacon, and eggs.

Jeb saw images of pancakes, bacon, eggs in his mind and slowly woke up, wondering if he was back at the diner, the last place he remembered being. He frowned when felt a pillow under his head and a blanket over him, wondering how he got home last night. He opened eye and panicked, not recognizing anything in his immediate vision. He sat up and looked around, not seeing anyone, but heard someone somewhere, he assumed cooking.

Riell continued to sing softly to herself, turning to get some plates when movement caught the corner of her eye. She fully turned to Jeb and offered a smile, "good morning, I was wondering when you'd wake up." She, looking over to check the pancakes and quickly flipping one so it wouldn't burn.

Jeb heard a voice he was oddly familiar with, but he couldn’t put it to a face like he normally could. He slowly turned to look and spotted a lofted room with stairs leading down and soon he found who the voice belonged to in the kitchen. “Riley…” He stated as more of a question, since he was confident in his answer, but wasn’t sure since he did get really high last night.

Riell looked back at him when he was quiet, tilting her head but reminded herself to smile when he called her that name. "Yeah, that's me," she told him, "and you're Jeb and this is my house." She gestured with her spatula, moving it in a circle as she smiled at him. "How are you feeling?"

Jeb looked around the place, pieces of the night before coming back to him, “You were at the diner.” He remembered, a small smile curled at the corner of his lips. He remembered she as the only one to actually come back to the diner after he introduced it to someone. “And this is your farm… With the deadly bees.” He said, patting his chest, feeling the pockets of his jacket, and came up Epi-Pen free. “Shit.” He muttered under his breath, hoping he could leave without getting stung.

Riell smiled back at him, "I was, I couldn't sleep and remembered a certain someone telling me about it." She said but her smile turned into a slight grimace when he remembered the bees. "Luckily it's starting to get too cold for the bees to come out, so they shouldn't be near here," she told him, "but I can keep an eye out for them." She offered, starting to set what she had made on plates.

Jeb nodded his head, it was the reason he often went there, because he couldn’t sleep, though last night was because he’d gotten high and then hungry. He looked out the nearest window, wondering if he could find one flying around, but couldn’t see anything obviously that small. He stood and stretched a little before walking a few steps to the kitchen, glad that winter at last kept them at bay. “So.. How… How bad was I?” He asked, knowing he had tried a new version of cocaine, unsure how he acted on it halfway through the dinner.

Riell filled their plates, her eyes catching on her stung arm, grimacing slightly, with the lack of pain it had been easy to forget about it. "You weren't...terrible," she told him with a smile, "but I think you were seeing some shadow monsters here and there and talking some nonsense but luckily nothing too bad happened, you were pretty cooperative." She told him, eyeing him from the side, "I don't know what you were on, I mean, I can guess, but I didn't want to leave you on your own."

Jeb nodded his head slowly when she said not terrible, and immediately recognized the fear of the shadow people. “Ah, haven’t had to dealt with that fear in a long time.” He realized he was lucky, knowing if she hadn’t picked him up and allowed him to come down from it, he’d probably have had a bad night. “The second high is usually the calm high.” He nodded, knowing he shot up again in the bathroom, slightly feeling bad for doing it, but he needed it. “I wouldn’t have moved, I was a rock.” The one good thing was how well he slept after.

Riell grimaced slightly but nodded, "for me it was always...little people, like little shadows running around the corners and stuff." She shuddered, also remembering how sometimes she swore they whispered to her. She looked back at the stove, flipping the bacon before looking at him, "yeah, it's like that till you get used to and it's on the the third an all that but it's whatever, I'm just glad you're doing alright, rock like or not." She half smiled.

Jeb raised an eyebrow at her description, part of him was a little shocked that she had experiences, but he kind of had a feeling. He was glad that he hadn’t been too much of a bother, unless she was lying, he was also glad that he didn’t need to do a third round, staying at two for the last several years. He knew it was only a matter of time though before He’d start needing that third high to survive. He decided to change the subject. “You don’t have to cook me anything, in fact I can just head out.” He didn’t want to be a bother, thinking of his dad, not wanting to be the same.

Riell slipped the bacon onto a plate, frowning at him and pointing her spatula at him. "I'm literally making breakfast, it's too late for you to leave now." She told him, "besides, I'm up on a mountain, that's a bit of a walk back to where your car is." She said, turning back to the stove and working on making the eggs. "I know my stuff isn't as good as the diner but you'll have to make due."

Jeb chuckled nervously, “Sorry. I just don’t want to overstay,” he didn’t want to be a burden to her, even if he ate and then left, he felt like he was making problems for her. He grimaced at the thought of walking, but he could probably use the fresh air. “I’d be okay, might take me several hours.” It as a good thing he had someone else open the store for him.
