Riell laughed, she hadn't considered bees to be wild animals, but they weren't exactly tamable. She glanced back, pleased to see he had been willing to venture outside. "Well here they are." She gestured to the fenced in area that was connected to the barn where a few goats meandered around, some laying down while others ran about, climbing on different structures. Riell opened up one of the barn doors, pushing it open all the way with her hip and went inside where a fenced off area held a few pigs laying in the mud while the rest of the stalls in the barn were empty, occupants already out in their designated areas.

Jeb shrunk down into his jacket, hiding as much of his exposed skin as he could, thankful that he was wearing a long sleeve and a sweater, and his jeans were pretty thick. He looked over to where she pointed and noticed a couple of goats and walked over, leaning against the fence and watched the little guys jump around.

Riell smiled as she tossed the scraps to the pigs, not minding the squeals of the few that ran over to eat. She reached down, scratching one behind the ear before heading back out of the barn but paused when she saw a few of the goats wandering up to Jeb, a couple of them bleating as if yelling at him for food. She walked up next to Jebs side and lifted her hands, "boo!" some goats ran off but a few that had tried stiffened up and fell over, laying down for a minute or two before jumping up and running off.

Jeb watched as some of the goats walked up to him, nibbling around, and bleating at him as if he had food. “Sorry buddy, I aint got nothing.” He tried to explain, but they kept yelling at him. It wasn’t long before Riell stood next to him and immediately scared them. “That was mean,” he said, turning to Riell. He was laughing though, finding it funny still when the goats fell over. “Do it again.” He teased.

Riell's mouth almost fell open for an apology when he said she was mean but then she heard him laughing and couldn't stop herself from smiling. "Me? Why not you?" She teased but walked around the other side of the pen, reaching over and grabbing a little ball she kept in it for the goats to play in and tossed it towards the middle, some goats running while others stiffened and fell over again.

“Because that was really mean, and I am a sweetheart,” Jeb teased, though it as mostly because he didn’t feel energetic enough to move to scare the goats. It seemed like a lot of work, and he needed to save up his energy for the drive home. He laughed when she obliged and scared them with a toy. “Do you do this when you’re sad? Because it would make me feel happy.” He laughed.

"Oh right, a major sweetheart while I'm like the wicked witch or something." Riell laughed, leaning against the railing as she watched the goats get up and run off, one darting forward and head butting the ball. She laughed again at his question, shaking her head, "sometimes...though I mostly sit out here and watch them, they get scared from almost anything."

Jeb chuckled, “I could see that being some very fun entertainment.” He said, then ducked down as if something flew past him, “Buzzing….” He said, having thought he heard the hum of a bee flying around his head. “I am not a flower.” He stated as he looked around, wondering if it was time to head out before he died.

Riell smiled, about to say something when he was ducking down, spotting a fly buzzing around him. "Hold on," she said softly, reaching out and waving off the fly, having to step a bit closer to Jeb until she was finally able to smack the fly away. "You aren't a flower but that fly seemed to really like you." She said with a little laugh.

Jeb grimaced, “Guess I could use a shower.” He ran his hand through his hair, though it tangled easily, and he ended up just patting it, as if he could flatten it slightly. “I guess it’s time for me to ask for a ride home.” He chuckled nervously, though he wasn’t sure why.

"Oh my god," Riell covered her face with her hand, "that's not what I meant to imply at all, I really just meant it was a fly." She told him, feeling like a jerk, thinking maybe she should have lied and said it was a bee. "But uh, yeah I can take you home, I jst need to get my keys." She said, taking her plate that had held the scraps back into the house.

Jeb raised an eyebrow at how she reacted to his joke, wondering if he was still high, because he wasn’t sure what went wrong. He looked around the two of them, “Okay..” He said awkwardly, wondering if he should start walking back when she said she could drive him. “I was joking Riley. Don’t beat yourself about it.” He wasn’t sure why she took it seriously, but it wasn’t necessary.

Riell looked back at Jeb, stopping in her tracks, sure her face was a little red. "Okay, I was feeling like a jerk if you thought I was being serious." She said, "I guess I'm kind of gullible." She added with a little laugh and continued her walk towards the house.

“I mean, I’m not wrong, I could use a shower.” Jeb was sure it was past twenty-fours since his last one, that’s usually how his days off went, most of his hours lost to the high. “That’s alright, I bet you hear a ton of interesting stories.” He wasn’t sure himself, but he might also be gullible, he did believe her when she said it was a fly, for all he knew it could have been a bee.

Riell laughed a little, "I guess I use to." She shrugged, thinking of the crazy shit she'd hear on the road, it was crazy what kind of stories people could come up with and back then she was happy to hear them, when her brain didn't work enough to decide what was real and what wasn't. She took care of her dish and pulled on a sweatshirt when she was inside then found her keys. She locked up the house before heading back out. "You ready?"

Jeb waited for her to finish up, continuing to watch the goats faint, and duck anytime he heard any sort of buzzing. He wasn’t one hundred percent sure it wasn’t a bee, and he didn’t want to take chances that it was. When she found him again, he nodded, “I think the smell of goat poop is going to my head.” He teased, not thinking it smelled that bad, but maybe he’d gotten used to it.

Riell looked over at Jeb and laughed, "uh huh, it's one of their draw backs." She joked as she unlocked her truck and climbed inside, pressing a button on the visor that made the gate to the drive way swing open. Her dogs looked from the gate to the truck, heads tilting to the side and one ambled up to Jeb, pressing her head into his hand.

Jeb hesitated right outside the car as her dogs came around him once again, though this time one of them pushed his hand with their head. He smiled and patted the pup before opening the passenger side and getting in. It was oddly familiar, flashes of riding in the seat the night before came back to him. “Do you live all the way out here for fun?” he asked, wondering if the guys would be willing to drive this far out to have a night of D&D.

Riell looked over at Jeb, wondering what was keeping him but then he opened the door and she saw her dog trying to love on him and laughed, shaking her head. "She loves attention." She warned as she buckled herself up and turned on her truck. "For fun and privacy," she shrugged as she turned around and left the driveway. "I grew up in a city so being outside of it is kind of a nice break." She said, figuring it wasn't that much of a lie.

Jeb ventured outside of town often, but he couldn’t live anywhere else. His dad as one reason, he wouldn’t leave him homeless alone, and he couldn’t leave mom, who was buried here. He figured with all the drugs he’d eventually die before getting married and having kids. “What’s it like? Living in a big city?” He asked her, feeling like his insomnia might make sense in a city over a quiet town like Graymore.

"It was...loud and bright," Riell told him with a small frown, "which was exciting when I was younger but then became more obnoxious over time and exhausting." She added, not missing it at all, always being on the go and if you tried to get anywhere traffic was just in te way or people would just stare, but then again that last part had to do with who she had been.

Jeb thought about Graymore being more than a town, where there were more people than you could ever meet more than once. “I think the sleepy towns are being slept on, and that’s perfectly fine with me.” he joked, though was being serious at the same time.

"I would agree with you." Riell said with a small smile, Graymore seeming like the sleepiest town of them all but that was why she had chosen it after all. It was a quiet and unassuming place, the last place anyone would look for someone important. "Plus the little towns always have the best diners." She joked, following the curving roads down and around until they got into town and she made it to the diner, pulling up next to where his car was left.

Jeb laughed and nodded vigorously, “I one hundred percent agree on that, the diners are just not the same.” He had found a few mom-and-pop places that were good when he found himself in New York, but nothing beat good ole Graymore. He spotted the said diner and sighed, “Home away from home.” He joked as he spotted his car.

Riell laughed, "if I could, I'd drive around to as many small towns as possible to try their diners." She said, thinking that most of them had to be good, but nothing could beat the one here so far. She slipped her truck into park, looking out at the diner. "No kidding."

“Livin’ it up like Guy Fieri, I would totally enjoy that kind of job,” Jeb thought eating for a living would be nice, especially when he was high. He unbuckled his seat bet and sat up. “Thanks for taking care of me, I owe you one,” He saluted her like she as captain of the ship and opened the door, but stopped, “Oh, and if you are into smoke some weed, I will be doing some of that back at my place… Welcome… To join or not.” He shrugged before he awkwardly got out and closed the door, waving goodbye before heading for his car.

"Exactly, that guy has the best job." She laughed, thinking that would be living the life and wondered how he even got into a job like that. "Oh, you're welcome," she smiled but it turned into laughter from his salute, shaking her head, "you don't owe me anything, I'm happy to help." She debated on making a joke about strays but kept it to herself, surprised by his next offer. She wasn't sure how to respond at first, when she had gotten sober she had quit everything but over time she couldn't help wanting some of something, especially the relaxing affects of weed. She watched as Jeb went to her car and rolled down the window, leaning over her console to respond. "I-I think I might take you up on that."

Jeb whipped around after he opened his car door to Riell saying she’d join him for a smoke. He as a little shocked, but shrugged his shoulders, not going to hold anything against anyone. “Alright.” He gave her instructions to his place and headed out, basically racing home so he could pick up the trash, laundry, and quickly shower. He wasn’t sure if she’d actually show up, but it was the first time he had someone over that wasn’t part of his D&D campaign.

Riell felt like she was going to throw up, why was she going to do this? What if it lead back to her old life? She was confident that she wouldn't fall back into old habits but wasn't naive enough to think it was impossible. No one planned on being a drug addict as much as she knew but she had agreed to this and it was just weed...then again she didn't know Jeb all to well but didn't think he was a bad guy. While he left she warred with herself over the decision until finally shifting her truck into drive and following his directions, pulling up in front of Jebs house and hopping out of her truck. She went up to his front door and knocked, pulling the ends of her sleeves over hads.

Jeb had cleaned up enough that the place didn’t look like a dumping ground, Faramir and Boromir were both fed, litterbox cleaned, and were currently playing with some toy he picked up from the store. Just as he stepped out of the shower, he heard a knock at the door. “Just a minute!” he called out before putting on some black sweatpants and a random red shirt before opening the door. “Hi… Sorry. The place is a mess.” He said, opening it wider for her, a little shocked she was there, thinking she would just go back to her place and never see him again.
