My buddy Jason, he's the sheriff
He'll flash his lights but let me go
My boy Randy, he's a preacher
Friendly- Silas was raised to be a kind gentleman and always greet people and make them feel welcome, which has turned him into an overall friendly guy. He doesn't have too much trouble making friends, but he does have a select group of people he considers close friends that he spends most of his time with. He doesn't mind sitting down to talk with someone about the weather or who knows what else to help them feel at ease. He always has a smile to offer.
Bashful- He's never been very good at taking compliments. Kind words often making him a little flustered and stumble over his words. He doesn't think he's that great of a guy, rather he simple does what he thinks is right. It's easy to make his face turn red with kind words and he partially hates it since it makes him an easy target for teasing.
Hardworking- When it comes to tasks in his life like work, Silas is a serious man. He likes to get things done on time and in a precious manner so that he doesn't have to go back and do it all again a second time. When he's in the zone it can be hard to get his attention unless you raise your voice or step directly in front of him to make him stop, which either results in him getting embarrassed or frustrated.
Oblivious- Even though he's kind and ready to lend a helping hand Silas is rather oblivious to peoples feelings, especially when they're about him. He isn't good at picking up on when someone likes him more than a friend or if they get mad at him. Something about those emotions just don't click in his head and it's easier to be direct with him rather than hope that he gets it.
My girl Megan, she's been Teacher of the Year
I swear for five years in a row
I've got some famous friends you've probably never heard of

Graymore has been his home since the day he was born. His parents run a ranch just a bit outside of town that he grew up working in along side his older brother Samuel with only three years between them the two of them were thick as thieves. They both liked working the cattle and training for the rodeo and hoped that one day they could both hit it big, thinking it would be cool to go through the circuit and travel across the country to compete in bull riding. A lot of Silas's life was dedicated to this and he was fairly good, some may say that he was probably too focused. He did make life long friends in high school but rarely dated, a lot of his time spent on training or working on the ranch. He didn't worry much about it back then, figuring that in the future romance could be his concern once he reached his dreams, this is where the two brothers strayed. Silas's brother became a father at a young age and ended up getting married, leaving behind his rodeo dreams to work the ranch and raise his son but encouraged Silas to try to accomplish their once shared dream.
When Silas graduated he kept working the ranch and competing in local rodeos while his friends went off to college or took on jobs around town but they never lost touch, which is something that he cherishes. It had only taken the year after leaving school for him to hit it in the rodeo world and for the first time he left Graymore, his family, and his friends behind. It hurt his heart but he was excited to see what the world had to offer outside of Maine. He had the time of his life competing, coming home in the off time to work the ranch and meet with his friends, each time he came back he saw how their lives changed. Like his brother some of his friends got married and had kids while he continued to live the life of a professional bull rider, but eventually the excitement didn't hit as hard as it used to and he found himself longing for home.
So Silas started to spend more of his time in Graymore, buying a house near his parents and started teaching riding lessons while also working the cattle but occasionally still going out and competing. He didn't mind it, being back with his friends, even though know there was less parties by the bonfire and more lunches and dinners planned around play dates, and hoped that maybe one day he'd be able to start his own family, but has never been in a rush. By now he's been thrown into so many blind dates that have flopped that he's kind of lose hope of anything happening. It was a little discouraging but he hasn't let it get to him, instead he focused on work until the day he lost his brother and sister-in-law.
In was mid Winter when Samuel Sr. and Serena got in a car accident after leaving their son Samuel Jr. with his grandparents so they could go away for a weekend for alone time. They had hit a patch of black ice on the road bordering Thistle Dew Lake, flipping over a guard rail and landing cab down in the icy water. By the time they were found it was too late to save them, leaving Samuel Jr. an orphan. Silas was in disbelief, even at the funeral he felt like it was some kind of sick joke but as the days passed and he helped his parents take care of his nephew reality sunk in deeper and deeper, especially when a few months later his parents sat him down and explained that they couldn't take care of Samuel-and neither could Silas's younger sister, Shayla who had her hands full raising her twins. They were getting older and without any other relatives to take him in they told Silas that either he took in the boy or else he'd go into foster care. For Silas there was no question of what he was going to do.
Silas adopted Samuel when he was about seven-years-old and hasn't looked back since.
